Hi everyone, long time lurker. I've learned a ton from this site so far! I'm looking at replacing the bars on my S-10 to something more roomy. I'm 6'0" and feel cramped with the stock bars. I'm looking at the Pro Taper ATV mid bars. I've seen other use them on their bikes, but my question is hows the clearance with the windscreen at full lock? I have a MRA X-creen on the bike(love it). Is it matter of cutting the screen? because at full lock, bars with less sweep I would imagine hit. Thanks for any input.

When you say cramped, is that with the hang of your arms or the closeness of them together? If it's the arm hang, many have had good luck with risers. I'm sure they'll chime in shortly. I "think" you can get away with a couple size of risers without needing longer lines...

I feel like the height is actually about right for me, I just can't stretch out enough. I'm looking for a bit more forward riding position. I feel like less sweep would do it, I have pretty long arms. Thanks

You might try loosening the clamps and rotating the bars forward, unless you've already done that?

I actually haven't tried that... I should give it a go. The only thing I was worried about was the switch and lever positioning, they are pinned am I right?

You might be right on there being a notch holding them in a static place. Can't remember from when I put on my heated grips, but you should give it a try anyway.

But a little goes a long way when rotating the bars, so YMMV and you might not have to worry about switch location.

If your good with the current rise... the ATV Mids will work for you. The reduced sweep will extend your reach. They will just barely contact the stock screen at full lock.... has never been an issue on the road.
