I have a darien jacket and was considering the wind blocker.Looks pricey but was considering it because zippered vents are suppose to line up with vents in jacket.Anyone wearing this combo likes or dislikes? Thanks,Jim

I also have a darian jacket , and agree that their wind blocker is pricey. but fleece stuff seems to be that way... it will work I bet , but I have to wait awhile to purchase that . so will use what I have available to me ,sweat shirts etc... next year... Wisconsin is next to minnasota, ride over and check them out..... then let us know how it fits works etc... the Darian is a great jacket, really like mine...

I rode to aerostich this june to get fitted for jacket and pants, about 6.5 hours from home.Recieved jacket and pants about a month later,as they were very busy.I should have checked out liners then really wasn't thinking about liners then.Warm out then and didn't have the cash.I do like the jacket and pants (darien) a lot.Another trip up to Duluth is in order.Cant go wrong up there,a lot of good riding along lake superior in Minnesota and along the lake in Wisconsin Jim

I bought the wind blocker with my Darien jacket two years ago. Although it is expensive, it is hard to argue its functionality. I use it constantly in cold weather. I like the fact that it can be worn as a jacket and the Darien can be simply pulled on over it without having to zip it in, although that option is available as well. It serves well as a separate fleece jacket when off the bike. I love my Aerostich gear. I usually wear AD1 pants with the Darien jacket, although I have Darien pants too.

Cheers,

Bruce

I also have had the Darien jacket and the wind blocker for three years now and they are a great combination for the cold Wisconsin weather. The jacket without the windblocker is fine for our summers. The Aerostich gear--Darien jacket and pants, electric vest, and windblocker liners-- all have been comfortable, waterproof, and durable.

who thinks of liners when its hot... its 58 this morning in buda texas, so the new darian will get a cool weather test as I ride to breakfast. have had it long enough to say that in the heat it was better than my mesh in keeping me comfortable. it seem to have a bit of a chimney effect at speed (all the vents open and collar not to tight)and evaporative cooling was noticeable. I like my darian, and I can say this no one else around here has anything like it (its not a common jacket in the local riding community, and its yellow not lime green) it is expensive, and its a little different, but it has quality and it works , but will take awhile to save the funds if I decide to add their liner. till then its improvise and layer ....what colors did ya'll get your darian in, almost went red decided yellow. no hiding in the yellow.

I have the wind blocker and used it with my last two Darien jackets. And it is nice. However I must say that when it started getting cool I just put my Gerbing heated jacket liner on. I mean I could turn the heat on or not but if I needed more warmth I didn't have to stop again.
Just my $.02.
YMMV

Ordered and received my wind blocker, arrived in two days.Just started wearing it home from work.I work nights and temps drop then.lows have been in the high 40's and im still warm with that setup.Plan is to slip warm + safe jacket under windblocker when needed. That should keep me going till the snow starts then its cage time.I always have ridden in cold weather its just nice to finally have some great riding gear.Jim

I found that the North Face Apex Bionic jackets make fantastic liners for Klim and Aerostitch jacket shells. The neck zips up perfectly to the bottom of the helmet too. They look good as regular jackets and are fairly waterproof when off of the bike. Being the most popular North Face design, they are also regularly on sale. I wear one and am good into the high 30s (F), when I break out the heated liner.

Someone recommended me a base layer from cyclegear that costs $40, I was very skeptical but gave it a try and am happy with it.
