I'm bald I'm not lasting long without a hat ;D since we're in survival mode the right hat can be a sink or bowl, keep sun away or heat in. Gotta have a hat.

I couldn't get the link to work.
It took awhile before I got my attempt to load. #14... don't leave home without a ton of memory. A couple of the pictures did not open but they were loaded. I manually opened them, hit the back arrow and they stayed with the article. I copied the article to Word, corrected some text, and saved it. Good to go.

Not sure what the deal is with the link. One time I had to reload and it went and the next try it just loaded. I googled "cycle world adventure survival tips" and it came up as the top page.

The article is good food for thought so worth the trouble.

Are you trying to say that the cap that lives in my tank bag sucks? ;D

Point well taken sir. A hat is an excellent addition. I think I will use my bag rain cover as a sink however! ;)

A bandana might well be another useful tool. Tons of uses.

BTW: I crack up every time I read your signature line...whole lotta us jakes on here. :D

We gotta get together and go gobbler chasing some day.

There is one thing that is really on my 'to-do' list very soon... I guess so I can tell my self I've done that before... I want to learn one or two ways to start a fire with just sticks.... I think its probably much harder than it looks on You Tube but something I want to work on... Have any of you tried it before ? Years ago I watched a army ranger training camp show.. It was the real deal they fallowed a few folks around as they completed the training.. One of the 'skills' was fire starting. You could not continue until it was completed... Many of the military folks could not complete the skill and had to go back and start over many times to fulfill the skill...... I think it would be a really good idea to wrap my head around "just in case" I might need that one day....

3 things I wouldn't be caught without. (Whether I'm on my Tenere, or a lawnmower)

Hat, knife, bic lighter.

Actually, 4 nowadays. Cell phone with GPS and camera.
And my cell has the maps onboard. So no need for cell tower.

Have hat will travel:

Tn has a fall hunt October 12-25. 6 birds either sex. Come hunt, bring a friend if you want. Wife and I live on 116 acre Duck river farm. We got a covered pavillion at the river to camp at. Birds usually roost close by. Don't bother bringing a shotgun I got a few. It would be a beautiful ride that time of year.

Man True Grip that is a generous offer. Careful, I just might take you up on it!

Perhaps we can talk trading a TN fall hunt for a WV spring gobbler chase. I just might know where there is a hunting camp on a mountain farm that is dead center of one of WVs highly pampered DNR historic turkey refugia. Birds from this region were used to restock nearly the whole state (and a few other states) years ago.

And now back to the regularly scheduled programming...an ADV rider thread on building a 'don't leave home w/o it' kit...http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=712326 Plenty of food for thought for those solo rides to BFE.
