I was test fitting the ADV Monster 60 lights today and thought I would give this spot a try. Any reason the shouldn't work? I just reversed half of the mounting bracket and mounted it to one of the existing holes.

I used a 12V power supply to test them out. My headlights are the DDM HID kit. Here are the lights on the lowest intensity:

And at full intensity.

just make sure there is no contact with the fender or anything attached to it with fully compressed front fork. 7.5 inches of travel.

I mounted mine to the OEM "cowcatcher" hoopdy engine guard only because they looked more spread out that way. I don't know if that's right or wrong. They are BRIGHT!

Topgear,

I mounted my Adv Monster 60s the same way you did 2 years ago. No problems.

Lights will work great under the nose. Mounted mine from LEDRider the same way with plenty of clearance to spare.

Thanks for all the input, guys. I'm running the DDM HIDs, 35W, 4500K for the primary bulbs. I got a chance to wire everything up properly yesterday. I used the variable controller from ADVMonster as well, which lets you set the power level of the LEDs, then bumps them up to full power when the high beam is switched on. I also added in a PC-8 fuse block from Eastern Beaver with his Tenere specific kit. Excellent as everything else I've received from him. Anyway, got out last night to shoot some pics.

Standard HID low beam:

Low beam with LEDs, controller set as low as possible:

High Beam with LEDs, full power:

Unfortunately, there is no way to get a shot of high beam without the LEDs. The controller always overrides, and kicks them on full power.

Since I don't plan on using my LED adjustment knob much I used the sticky tape to install it just forward of the right side of the tank (inside the tupperware body panel). I set it so the LEDs are the same brightness as the low beams and when I hit the high beams the LEDs come on full bright.
