Deal time and a very nice skid plate.
Get your studs set in place also.
The “stud mod” makes all the difference, highly recommended!
The ACD plate is well made and that is a great price.

Not sure why ACD doesn’t move to charge $5 more & include studs with the hardware kit.

Oil change is simple. On center stand, remove rear nuts, front nuts, slide bolts out just enough in rear for plate to drop off and installation is reverse of removal. Takes a little wiggling to get the bolts back in, but a non-issue really.

Hello, I would be grateful for seeing a video showing this including a photo detail of what kind of studs you actually meant. I bought mine ACD guard too, still not installed, pending oil/oil filter change. That is why I would appreciate hints helping make the next oil service easier with ACD already fitted. Thanks in advance.

Here’s a picture of my stud setup. I can’t remember the metric size and pitch off the top of my head. I use two nuts per stud. One to hold the engine mount and one to hold the skid plate. Makes removing the skid plate easy. Don’t mind the dirt, it’s just for looks. B454494C-97F6-4992-A043-81622E7B4FE2.jpeg

Hello, anyone here having ACD skid plate combined with GIVI fall frames please ? That would be my case this spring, just wondering whether the upper front attachment with bolts and spacers supplied with the plate is tricky or not. Thanks heavily in advance,

Welcome to the forum. Please take a minute to add your location to your profile. It gives context to your posts and allows everyone to give you better answers that apply to your region better.

Take one of the engine mount bolts to the hardware store and they will help you with the size and pitch of the threads. Get one long enough that you can securely mount your items and double nut it as Mak10 shows in his pictures. That way when you do oil changes, nothing comes loose except the skid plate. Those two bolts are motor mount bolts and you do not really want that coming loose every oil change. Never mind the potential for damaging the threads in the aluminum of the engine. They were not designed or intended to be removed with any regularity.

If we know what country you are in, we can offer suggestions on where to go to get studs.

Hi, thanks, good to know this improved attachment system.
1) Just what I am not sure enough now is how the set-up looks like, under "stud" I imagined a rod with a thread that I would screw into the engine block through the black pad with holes for 4 bolts and through the givi fall frame attachment points and finally through the ACD skid plate top attachment points as a final "laywer", just putting one nut under and onto the ACD plate.
2) To lower the skid plate is it enough to dismantle then the top nuts and release a bit the two bolts on the bike´s bottom sides, right ?

Thanks again in advance.

The studs replace the lower bolts in your diagram (8and10).

The upper bolts, you have circled are re-used.

A nut goes on top of the crashbar mounts. You don’t take this nut off when removing skidplate. Then skidplate and another nut to hold skidplate on.

Also only remove one engine mount bolt at a time. Take it out and replace with stud. Take care not to cross thread. Once stud is in place, you can loosen other engine mount bolt. If you loosen both at same time, engine might sag enough to make putting bolt or stud in difficult.
