So the wife and I are heading to Dawson at the end of June. We are going to try to get up to Tuk with her Can-Am LOL. Should be interesting.
The issue we are running into this year is finding lodging, it appears everyone and their dogs is heading north and we may end up tenting way more then I would like.
Anyone else running into this, maybe now with the freedom of travel after Covid is making everyone itchy to get out on the roads.
If anyone knows of a good place to stay that I can check for availability would also be appreciated thx.

The Bunkhouse in Dawson is always popular with motorcyclists. Also several motels there, expensive but I’ve never had problems getting a room. Try to avoid the solstice party (everything is booked a year ahead), unless of course that’s why you want to go.

You should have zero issues getting the Can Am up there. I went the first year the road to Tuk was open, it was just a bit on the loose side but otherwise just fine. Sorry I can't help with accommodation suggestions, I tented it the majority of my visit.

Its all good, its all organized and setup now. We will be doing 50/50 for overnight.
It will be interesting getting the Can-Am there, worried about the tires even though they will be new at the start.
When we head back from Tuk the plan is to head to Yellowknife.

Will she be pulling a Trailer ? Probably a good idea to take along a spare belt and rear tire, the gravel up there seems a lot more likely to cut tires . Yes lodging is limited but we were usually able to find something without to much trouble last year. The bunkhouse is interesting, the entire place shares one bathroom.

No she wont be pulling a trailer, it is getting setup with soft panniers and a top drysack, similar as what you would do on a motorcycle It will also carry an extra fuel mounted on a rear rack. Fuel mileage is not great on the Can-Am.
Its a Ryker, not the Spyder, so it is driven by a driveshaft, bonus. Its getting fresh tires but the tires do worry me they are not tough like the Mitas I use, not even close.
In Dawson we are staying at the Down Town Hotel, home of the Sour toe cocktail..LOL

I would recommend towing insurance, talked to a guy up there last year riding a BMW with tubed tires, had a rear flat and removed the tire on the side of the road to replace the tube, after he got all done he rode another 10 miles and had another rear flat. Called a wrecker for a 50 mile tow cost $1200 Canadian, they dropped him off at a Napa store at 2am, Saturday morning Napa tells him yes we have some tubes in stock but the guy that sells them won’t be here until Monday. So luckily there was a motel right across the road from Napa and they had a room available.
