I hope your wait is almost done, you're too long in the fray
I hope you get a phone call soon that brightens up your day
Your time has come, you're almost there, you deserve no more delay
I hope today was your last day without your Tenere

It's been a while for all of us, some of you more than most
A few of us just packed 'er in and plum gave up the ghost
When devastation left its path, there wasn't much to say

But I hope today was your last day without your Tenere

We're all in this together, and at some point we all win
We're all of one firm mind in this, we're almost nearly kin
But us Canucks who live up north, above the U. S. A.
Sure hope today was your last day without your Tenere

It's hard to be as happy and as grateful as we might
To have our bikes at home with us and tucked away at night
Not too many miles will pass, when one of us will say
I hope today was their last day without a Tenere

We're all in this together, we've been there from the start
There's been a heap of talk, support, some fun and lots of heart
It's not so nice to be the first, when second's far away
I hope today was your last day without a Tenere

So here's our wish to all of you who have waited hard and long
I hope you're heard the very last of that same old dance and song
I hope tomorrow each and every one of you can say
Yesterday was my last day without a Tenere.

Rem,

Thanks for the kind thoughts, that was nicely done! I do believe that this forum has made the wait much less of an ordeal. Plus it has been fun to get the know folks from around the world who share our love of motorcycles. I hope to be able to attend a rally so I can really meet all you characters!

Today I am stopping by the dealer to get an appraisal on the ST1300 so I am really to put it up for sale once the Tenere gets here. Not a very nice day to be riding weather-wise, but hey at least it will be mostly interstate riding! ;-)

Glad you enjoyed it, Buckeye. All kidding aside, I have my digits crossed that your bikes come in real soon.

Regarding your ST1300, I have one as well. 2009. I hope to keep it, but if someone put a gun (in Canada, that would be a really dangerous looking broom handle) to my head and made me choose, I'd have to keep the Yamaha. Hope that makes you feel better. R

Thanks Rem for another great poem!!! :)

Would you also be willing to make a few strategic calls to Yamaha Japan and Yamaha USA and see what you can do to speed things up a bit?????

I have a call in to Uncle Yoshi, but apparently he is out riding his new Tenere. They don't know when he will be back in the office. R

Actually it was not all that bad as long as you were moving! I had made up my mind to get the Tenere before it was announced last September. I rode a R1200GS on an Ayres tour several years ago and found I liked the ergonomics. I have enjoyed both STs I have owned but issues with shoulder pain make the more upright seating the deciding factor. It is with no real regret that I make the change.

Same here with the shoulder pain. Can't seem to get rid of it. Otherwise, an awesome bike the ST1300 is. R
