Thank you for sharing. I was looking at the forum for updates daily and never dissappointed, like a child waiting for a story to be read to me, (I know, I'm sad) Please post if you take any more trips.

Thank you very much for that incredible trip report.

BTW, you have a great looking Super Tenere. I've seen one like that over here somewhere. ;D

Thanks for the positive comments guys.

I love the Tenere... coming from BMW 1200's on which I have done a collective 200,000+ km's I really enjoy the bike, will comment on my experience with the bike and my thoughts somewhere else.

We are spoilt in South Africa with DS riding places, and especially so in the Cape Provinces, Western, Northern and Eastern.

I often do shorter trips and will be sure to post these as well - most previous trips were with BMW but that will change during 2015.

Wanted to know where beautiful Namibia was located... http://goo.gl/maps/tCSV6 Looks to be close the the size of California and Nevada combined and the coasts are close the the same straight line length. Now I know why I had a familiar feeling while reading your ride report. Looking forward to your next trip.

Glad to see i'm not the only one here in SA doing those distances. I rode all along the coast from Langebaan untill East-Londen then Headed for Pretoria Via Bloem. Love the Yamaha. ::26::

Kola,

Not to sidetrack this excellent thread, but I want to tell you my Handpresso and mill both arrived.
And your gracious tips on getting a good cup were perfect!

Nailed it, second cup. Outstanding devices, both.
Really looking forward to sitting on some mountaintop soon (barefooted) and sipping a fine brew.

Thank you very much!
