I don't know how to imbed this so it's just a link. Short video of me and my Tenere in a little sand. Not deep, maybe 2-3 inches. Pretty soft stuff though. The high spots on the road are hardpack, the low spots are sandy. I don't have a lot of sand experience but I found the Tenere pretty easy to handle. I was probably going about 20. When I tried to go a little faster things began to get a little squirrelly. It's not as easy as my DRZ400, but not bad either. If the sand was deeper I would definitely want a knobby of some sort.
I've been trying out various dirt roads and trails in the area and I think the Tenere will get me anywhere I want to take it. Surprisingly easy to ride on dirt.
