My wife sees only Black or White, no happy medium!!

In short kill them all and let God sort them out or let them take full control and rule your life.
You talk about how to shut down a conversation, at this point I already have my ear plugs in and putting on the helmet to go for a ride of Peace!! ::008::

I bought my first bike in 2006 while my wife was away at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, tending to our son who was recovering from a bone marrow transplant (he is fine now, and I had spent a bunch of time up there myself). I didn't ask for permission, but rather forgiveness. It wasn't 100% unexpected, since she knew I had been looking at bikes every night I spent at the hospital (we used the same laptop and she saw what I had searched last) but it was certainly a surprise.
She was amazingly cool about it (though she made me double my life insurance policy) and said it was my way of dealing with the stress.
After I sold the bike in 2010, she was the one encouraging the purchase of an upgrade (I went from a V-Star 650 to a Road King Classic), and when I added the Tenere in 2014' she suggested I keep the Harley since we had the space and didn't need the money right away. I still sold since I knew it wouldn't get much love anymore, but needless to say - I am a pretty lucky guy as far as the wife is concerned.
But she won't ride with me until the kids are at college - too worried.
