Welcome richarddacat. I just stumbled up on this old post again. Yep that is my old 2012 still sitting at Sloan's. That is a great bike, nothing at all wrong with it, I just traded for a 2014. If you have any questions I'll be glad to help if I can. Also I am glad to report that my new Heart is doing great and I still Love riding my Tenere' as often as I can. Want to also thank you for making the choice to be an organ donor. It could mean a real gift of life for someone, God Forbid, that anything should ever happen to you. I am living proof that it is a worthy decision. Because of my incredible gift, I have been afforded going on more than 2 years and counting, time to see my daughter grow. I would not be here today were it not for organ donation. When I was diagnosed with heart failure in 2012, I was told I would likely die in less than a year without a transplant. Now I have a reasonable expectation at a possibly normal lifespan. Incredible really. I still am very humbled and amazed by it all.

As far as you wanting a different kind of bike to ride, the Tenere' is an excellent choice. I would be happy to meet for a test ride if you would like. Again the Beautiful Raven at Sloan's is a great bike and I'll bet Matt is ready to move it. Make em an offer.

either way, we should meet up for a ride sometime soon.

Steve, somehow I missed this thread the first time. Very interesting to read through it and be able to jump ahead so far into the future and hear how well things have worked out. It's a wonderful read.

I suspect I'm like a lot of people who have checked that little box, but never given any thought to it in a meaningful way. Your obvious appreciation of the entirety of situation is inspirational. Thank you for the story of your before and after.

Thank you for the kind words Dirt Dad, and thanks for your decision to sign that card. I am hoping that I can make it to the Romney event this year. Hope to see you there.

I was sent to Germany for 3 weeks thru work so sitting in my hotel room and having extra time to read other posts I came across this heart felt inspiring post, thank you for sharing Steve. I pray that you live a long healthy life. First thing I did was double check my donor card that it was signed and it wasn't (license has a donor sticker but just received a new one and forgot to sign). Hopefully your story will inspire others to sign as to what I consider as "paying it forward". It also highlights the importance of family and friends as not to put off spending quality time with them while we have our health to do so. After all we won't remember how much money or the number of toys we had, It will be the times we spent with friends and family. Gods speed enjoy the ride,

Brad

Very well put Brad, and thank you so much for your kind words and for making the decision to sign the Donor card. Everyday I wake up thankful for what ever may lie ahead. If in any small way my experience has inspired someone to appreciate life, family, faith and friends then my second chance is not lost. Thank you for sharing your insights.
