Well, it's that time of the year, and I wax poetic once again. My apologies in advance. While the presentation may be lacking, the sentiment is genuine. R

OH Tenere, OH Tenere ......
(A Christmas Wish - 2011)

Another year has come and gone
And my riding season's ended
Some of yours were fair to poor
And some were downright splendid

Now we take the time to muse
And remember great occasions
Laughter, friends and muddy bikes
And multiple abrasions

I take this time to think of you
And spread some Christmas cheer
I lift my cyber mug to toast
You all with cyber beer

I wish for you, adventure rides
And a plethora of travel
Avoid the asphalt when you can
And seek out some slippery gravel

l wish for you some mighty voyages
In the coming riding year
But take care as you venture forward
Beware of drunks, dimwits and deer

I wish for you outstanding mileage
And an absence of remote repairs
I hope that lots of youngish sweet thangs
Give you long, lascivious stares

I wish for you on-going success
In every trip that you endeavor
I hope you find some magic tires
That seem to just go on forever

I wish for you a seat so soft
That despite the depth of rut
It keeps your ride as smooth as silk
And a smile cracked on your butt

I hope you can afford the things
That make your 'sickel sparkle
I hope you can adorn your bike
With unending flash and farkle

I wish for you a safe return
From all of your adventures
I hope your visor thwarts the need
For crowns and plates and dentures

I hope that this upcoming year
Will not be too demanding
Most of all I wish you health
And wealth and joy outstanding

The time I spend with all of you
Is time that's well worth spending
I wish you all the very best
And good rides that are unending

I thank you for your patience
With my weak attempts at humor
It's been said that I'm a funny guy
But I think that was a rumor

I hope to meet you all next year
When you motor up this way
Troll and I will both ensure
A Yukon welcome .... eh?

So while I'm waiting out the cold
And protect my ample ass from freezin'
I wish you all the very best
And a mighty, awesome Christmas season

I have so many things to say
But for now I'll exercise decorum
I'm glad I found my Tenere
And I'm really glad I found this Forum.

From me and "T", to all your bikes
For sure the blue ones parked out back
I hope they wake up Christmas Day
To find that they have all turned black.

Now that's what I'm talking about .........

So all you guys and gals out there
In climes all warm and sunny
No need to be concerned for me
Just send noels … and money

Merry Christmas to you all. Let's be careful out there. Rem, Rita & Mr. T

Aw shucks, boys ..... 'warn't nothin'. Glad you enjoyed it. I thought it a mite early to post it, but I may be out of town off an on for the next 10 days or so, so figured I'd put it up there. Thank you for your kind wishes. I wish I could spend Christmas with all of you. Well, maybe except for Troll. He's such a troll sometimes. Ho ho ho. R ::025:: ::025:: ::025:: ::016::

Your prose is perfect and for nothing does it lack,

'cept for the reference to that sad absence of color...black!

Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the good wishes, Salt Man. How's the weather out your way? Wouldn't be wet, windy and cold, would it? I spent a year in PEI about a hundred yeas ago. R

The Atantic wind and rain prevails with a few double digits here and there. A little colder and we would have 4 to 6 feet of snow by now. Black ice remains to claim the unwitted in the early rays of light. We had a weather boom a few weeks back which left about 20 to 30 cm of Yukon white which had dicipated untill this am with a little skif of power, may be a white Christmass after all. Unfortunatly I winter parked Blue in mid November untill next May, given the threat of black ice.

How much Rum did Rem consume,
To dream up that little tune

I guess we won't know
Till the snow doth stop blow

And the return of calm
To the beautiful Yukon

How much Rum did Rem consume,To dream up that little tune

I had a nice breakfast
Then took a wee snooze
Then dipped in the pantry
For a sample of booze

A little while later
As I swung from the rafter
Said poem was penned
Very soon after

It didn't take long
It was done very soon
The words just flowed from me
Like shit through a loon

I'm glad you enjoyed it
It's my gift to you all
Be careful out there
While you're decking the hall. R

The master has spoken
His words are a gem

Try as hard as I might
I cannot equal Rem

His vision is terrific
His words so prolific

My pen I put down
My notebook I do close

Because no mortal can compete
With Rem and his prose
