Rt has super wind and rain protection. Simply the best
Not affected with strong side wind
Great brakes
Not too much motor vibration
Good stability
Good reliability for the time I had it
Good bike for riding in duo.

Dislike

Not easy to maneuver at really low speed when doing U turns.
Too cramped position for my taste. Hard to standup on pegs with my old knees. (sore butt)
BMW Comfort seat on my bike was... not comfortable
Hard low travel suspension with bad roads can be a nightmare. This is a highway bike.
Motor is too smooth with not enough grunt (like ST has) it is a more revvy motor. HP output is the same as ST
A lot of screws to unscrew do do some maintenance Ex: 20 to unscrew to get access to the air filter.
High price parts if required.

Most of my rides are now done solo on country roads often with bad asphalt condition, rail roads crossing etc.
I retired a year ago in GA at 64. I hear Copan Honduras calling me again. Last ride I did Mayan ruins starting in the Yucatán and down through Guatemala. Have a close friend in San Pedro Sula HN -end stop. Always solo, always safe. This is the last practice before Tierra del Fuego. Super Tenere 1200 2014 I would like a better back support than using my luggage. But not willing to spend big $ on different seats. Last time the third day stopped me it was so bad.

I think it is normal to make adjustments to the bike to tailor it to our body. Nobody has the same size.
This is simple to do on a car with all the settings it has in it but not so easy to do with a bike. ($$$)
You're lucky if the bike fits you perfectly otherwise if it doesn't and you don't do anything, il's like soldering the seats on the car rails and tell to everybody it's made as is.
I guess many peoples will have problems to drive such a car.
I had over 30 bikes in my life and know what I like and what I can't accept. Choosing a bike model from another one is often a sum of compromises we can accept or not.
I had a Kaw Concours 1000, Hon St-1100, BMW R1150RT, R1200RT and they ALL had risers on handlebars because I had shoulders problems mainly during stop and go little rides.
