Will be interesting to see a test with them all. For going off road i think to T7 will smoke them. Next best will be the GS.

That windscreen would barely cover my phone! Aren't Ptwins simpler and cheaper than Vtwins? Getting to be the standard for the class. I rode one of the WeeStroms around Oahu earlier this year. The V engine was fun, but needed revving. Pretty uncomfortable by the end of the day with the small frame size. This one looks enough bigger to be interesting.

Looks like a nice option for a midrange ADV bike. I'm not up on the specifics of the past V engines meeting the new emmission standard. Maybe thats why?

Nah, holligl is right. They say it's a "packaging and production cost advantage". I agree with you, the 650 was pretty small. This gives a nice bump without going whole hog.

I had high hopes until I saw 2 items that jumped out at me from the intro, the tube type wheel/tire combo and no cruise. A bigger windshield would be nice too. The new Aprilla 650 Tuareg has them.

If you refer to the Euro5, the answer is yes, the 650 v strom meets it and will continue to be sold in Europe. Suzuki had nothing in between the 650 and the 1050 and now they have it.

I think that it is plenty of bikes from all brands between 600 and 900 cc. On road, off road, dual, whatever you want. And the Chineses are coming too. These new transalp and suzuki are to be considered. Light weight and consume, power enough, they seem as bikes to go around the world with them.

I think you're right about the cruise, but those rims look tubeless to me. It has that raised portion in the middle that keeps the spokes out of the rim. But . . . . the article says they're cast alloy. They definitely don't look like cast alloys.

I think there would be a flange like we have on our bikes if they were tubeless. Plus not many bikes have them so would be more costly.

Love it. Not necessarily this specific bike, although I'll always respect the VStrom. More that I love another adventure bike in the market. Awesome, keep 'em coming, more, more, more.

You're right. Our flange is the proper/best way to do it. The raised portion on the Suzuki is the less expensive way to do it. I think.
