30,000 kms. I rode from Toronto to Mexico, Guatemala and Belize. It was an outstanding but, gruelling trip. Temps were 36C-40C! The S10 performed without issue. Learned how to scuba dive in Cozumel as one of the riders owns a dive shop there. The UGLY….in Guatemala, my GIVI Trekker panniers broke off the mount, after hitting a hidden tope (speed bump) at 80 kmh. Inside the bag contained ALL my cash, VISA documents from Mexico and Guatemala, TIP for Mexico , camera, clothes. I didn’t realize it had broken off until 15 minutes later. I was extremely fortunate to have found the area where I hit the tope. A family had picked it up and gave it to me on my return!

The tope had severely bent the pannier frame and mount. I used tie downs to secure BOTH panniers until I got back home. Very disappointed how cheap and unforgiving GIVI panniers are made.
Exactly what and where is the very first picture ?

1,000 miles on the Tenere - Bozeman-Boise-Bozeman.

Week on the TM racing EN300 in the Black Hills. Week on the TM racing EN300 working the Idaho City 100 enduro (trail marking, road crossing guard, etc.) My daughter was the club's youngest loop captain in 45 years, only 4'th female to be a loop captain, and the only member to be a loop captain in her first year of membership. She also broke two wrists simultaneously on her Beta 300 RR.

Two rides on the 690 duke - it goes for sale. Just finished prepping for sale and removing Traxxion Dynamics fork cartridges and Penske rear shock and reinstalling stock components. Traxxion and Penske will go to my daughter for her 790 duke.

Bought a T-700 last week to do more BDRs with my buddies and to loan it to my above-mentioned daughter so she can do adventure rides in Idaho and the PWN. We can meet 1/2 way in Picabo, ID, and i can give her the T-700 and i can ride the 790 back to my house for suspension swap and maintenance.

Not the best year of riding, but not that bad, either, considering......

This year try to hit the Barber motorsports museum, and the NASA museums in Huntsville, AL. If not those, the aerospace museum in Seattle.

I've never kept track of miles unless on a trip. Did 12,800 miles going to Alaska and down the west coast and back home. Then just kept local. Did the CPAAT in 4 days. That was 1000 miles from start to finish. Best time? Can't say but I think it was just being on a bike seeing new country and being with good people while doing it. Although maybe the best time was seeing Coldfoot AK before my tank was dry!

Best day of 2023 was December 2nd when I picked up my new Ténéré. Crossed the state of Florida on the new bike to get it home in bad weather....last hour of riding was in the dark in a torrential downpour. I was worried with the brand new tires but the bike performed so well.
Rode about 7,000 miles on the Concours 14 last year and logged about 1,200 on the Ténéré in the first month of ownership. Looking forward to many awesome rides on the S10 in 2024!!

As expected very little km’s. Only 1727km last seasons. I went from commuting and traveling on the bike daily to “as much as I practically can”. My daily is now my Toyota van. Nice van but I don’t like driving a car. So that is a low

High was when i trailered it to France, beautiful campsite and cabin and touring there, loved it!

So what are the details of the Iron Butt Rally?
in simplistic terms, it's an 11 day timed ride for selected riders that you plan, ride and document to various themed points of interest as dictated by the rallymaster.
the link will take you to this years daily rally coverage. previous years are covered and databased at ironbutt.com.
