New to the forum - will be picking up my 2022 Super Tenere on Friday and I'm confused in regards to the headlights being LED or Not for this version of the bike ?

You can always upgrade to LEDs if you want. I picked up some extended caps from Deftoner here on the forum and they allowed me to fit larger, whiter, brighter LED bulbs in my bike.

Bill I certainly will be looking into the Deftoner's caps - one of the first things that caught my eye since I've been lurking over the last few weeks. I traded my 2019 Vstrom into my dealer for the 2022 ST and have stripped of some of the accessories I had : PDM 60/ Denali D3's/ Admore rear brake light bar/ unfortunately I did not have time nor the patience to remove the 2 LED bulbs I installed over the winter CSP Mini's by GTR Lighting will reach out to the Canadian distributor to set me up for the new bike. I am also considering adding a light bar just under the headlamps, bike should be all set in about a month with all the accessories I've purchased - really looking forward to riding it

550 you reference a H7 bulb type for both units - should it not be H7 for the low beam and a H11 for the high beam ?

Each H7 does both high and low. And if you switch to LED it will also be high and low beam. Check with Deftoner about the extended caps but I recall he doesn’t ship to Canada.

Ordered a set of CSP Mini's by GTR Lighting H7's - I had this brand on my VStrom they where recommended to me by an inmate due to their small size. I'm hoping to be able to install them without having to change the Caps

Will keep you posted !

I have recently bought a set of led lights too and being small I didn't need any extended caps so yours might work too...
I have bought mine overhere (Italy) so I guess it won't be convenient for people outside Europe...
