BMW have used Brembo callipers for years and have recently changed to Hayes on selected models. Oh yes, and Brembo are Italian.
Why? That helps keep resale value high.To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.
And the Hayes are so bad there is both a recall and a Stop Sale order on multiple gsa and hp models. They are in deep shit with the nhtsa and customers.BMW have used Brembo callipers for years and have recently changed to Hayes on selected models. Oh yes, and Brembo are Italian.
Yes same in Japan and SEA. We cannot order S10 anymore except for FJR.. will keep on selling.I hate to disappoint you guys, but Yamaha have just announced in the UK that they are ceasing production of the FJR, after 19 years & the S10 after 10 years, without replacement at present. I guess they are clearing old stocks/parts bins in markets not affected directly by Euro 5, hence some of you have 2021 availability, just to make things confusing. Doubtless Covid-19 hasn't helped when it comes to product planning.
Thinking back, we had the old XTZ750 between 1989 - 96. Then the current XT1200Z from 2010. Hopefully replacement won't take 14 years this time. I shall be looking for something more substantial than the revised 900 triple next time. It seems crazy just to cede this whole area of the bike market to BMW, KTM, Honda & Ducati ........ but what do I know. Perhaps H-D will shock us all with the Pan America.
So are they ceasing production of these models entirely or just for the UK and certain other markets? Thinking the latter since there is a new year model introduced for 2021 here in the US and probably some other markets (EU?). They don't seem to be leftovers given the BNGs.I hate to disappoint you guys, but Yamaha have just announced in the UK that they are ceasing production of the FJR, after 19 years & the S10 after 10 years,
BSI don't want to turn the S10 into a BMW either, but its hard to compete in a market when your product is the only one that has not had any updates in 7 years. And if no one buys the product, production will stop.
And speaking of BMW. . . they're currently on a stop sale order until they figure out how to fix their leaking front brake caliber. What a mess ! ! !
I hope sincerely that you are correct. So are they ceasing production of these models entirely or just for the UK and certain other markets? Thinking the latter since there is a new year model introduced for 2021 here in the US and probably some other markets (EU?). They don't seem to be leftovers given the BNGs.
Depending on the year, they stopped production everywhere. BUT, if you got to the official Honda site, and search "ST 1300", it is still available for L.E. only. Which means there selling old bikes, at new prices.. . . . The bike went on to be produced. Just not marketed here.
I don't understand why they would have put the 6-speed tranny in the bike, if they knew they were going to cancel it in a few years. I still think there's going to be some additional changing of names.. . . . I think we all knew the FJR looked finished when the 2020 model was bestowed with that 'final edition' moniker. . . .
Seams weird but I’m going to add my wishlist to the Tenere in my own quote. My guess is Yamaha will just not have a ST for 21 just to clear out old inventory and bring it back for 22.
Do you believe in Santa Claus also?Seams weird but I’m going to add my wishlist to the Tenere in my own quote.
First, the first three gears would be at least 40% lower. Since Tenere’s comes restricted anyhow why not.
Second, give me a 8” wide by 8” tall TFT display that has built in GPS, Google map, Bluetooth with a toggle button on the left thumb.
Third, give me the option to leave my traction control in the mode I choose after I turn the key off!! Give me a obnoxious warning light that I can turn off on the fly.
Fourth, let me turn off the anti-lock brakes and leave them off. Give me a obnoxious warning light that I can turn off on the fly.
Fifth, give me a worldcrosser addition with a non-motor mounted bashplate, emission delete exhaust, altrider crash bars, pannier mounts, Madstaid windshield mount, folding mirrors.
Only when I’m off my meds!Do you believe in Santa Claus also?
