I have felt a difference in shifting with some oils. Not going to provoke an oil thread by talking brands here though.

Rambler, now that they took oil out, get out your owners manual and check it the right way more than once. I would not be surprised if you are now low.

That's normal, you need to check on the centerstand on a level surface. Run the engine for a few minutes on the CS then shut off and wait a few minutes, then check the site glass.

Just got back from a 10 min ride. Let the bike sit on center stand for about 5 mins and the oil level window shows full oil.
That is - even above the max line.

Does this mean I need to take some oil out?

Mine always shows overfilled like that even though I know I measured the correct amount when I filled it. Immediately after the oil change it'll show right between the high and low marks on the sight glass with a new oil filter and 3.7-3.75 qts. added using the recommended method: Start > let idle until reaching 140F temp or more > shut off > wait 5 min. > check sight glass.

After the first time I ride it though, it always shows completely full when I check it in the same exact location where I performed the oil change. Letting it cool completely to ambient temperature doesn't change the appearance in the sight glass. It's strange, but I've just left it be from that point and no issues in 40K+ miles.

I wouldn't worry if it is anywhere near the top of the sight glass. I know exactly how much oil I put in at a change and when checking it after changing, sometimes the oil level will be in the middle, sometimes a bit low, sometimes virtually at the top of the glass. The variation has to do with the separate oil reservoir.

There is a very narrow window in the oil temperatur, where the sight glass will show correct oil level.
If oil to hot, it will show to much, and if to cold it will show to little. And you can't read the oil temperatur....
If I was you, I would do a little experiment...
Right after a oil change, where you know there is the correct amount of oil on the engine. I would find out at what WATER temperatur (starting from cold), the oil level is showing the correct amount of oil.
And then always control oil the same way/temperatur on water

Mine never looks any different regardless of engine temperature.

As oil level has been brought up, I was wondering if there is any correlation between the level and shifting issues? If the oil is overfilled would it cause this issue and vice versa? As we run a wet clutch pack.
