2016 Tenere Recall.

Today, January 18th 2016, and I just got a call from my Dealer about a recall on my Tenere. He couldn't tell me what if was for. I asked!
Great, let's hope they don't want it for 6 months. And there is no way I'm going to park it until they get parts. Unless they want to buy it back.

No letters as if yet.
I'll keep you posted on my results.

For clarification was this for a 2016 Model Year Tenere Re-call, or just a recall in 2016 for all Tenere's? I *REALLY* hope this is for the hard start ECU fix as anecdotally referenced in some other threads on the forum. Please do keep us updated. I have not received a phone call from my dealer, but my Dealer was also not very good at being a dealer.

Is it possible the dealer simply fucked something up? e.g. didn't do something during pre-deliver as per manufacturers instructions?

Seems strange a dealer would contact a customer before any information about a recall had been leaked or posted to government websites, and not want to tell you what it was all about.

whats the manufacture date or VIN? possibly the shift cam segment stopper recall.

I just looked mine up on nhtsa.gov by vin number, and nothing. 2014 lucky #13 according to the VIN.

I ,ve got my dealer working on the hard start problem, Talked to a rep at the Yamaha display of the International motor cycle show also , hopefully it will be a ECU not a reflash 15 and down . I have not had the that happen but it has stalled a few times before reaching normal engine temp. Ive got a 15 ES . I will post if I hear anything..

I have a 2014 and checked it last night, and there's no recall on my VIN. Maybe some of the 2014 models that were made after a certain point were subject to that recall that affected the 2015 models, because I can't find any recalls other than that came segment stopper one, for various 2015 models including the S10.

There is another thread about a recall for hard start beginning February 1st for 2012-2015. Didn't include the 2016 models.

OK sorry for the long delay but just got off the phone with my Dealer.
I do a LOT of business with their parts Dept, so theyl shoot straight with me.

Here's the scoop!

The Recall is for the headlight wiring harness for possible fire hazard.
All 2013 and up models.

Going to go down next week and let them do it.
I'll get the recall from him then. (Forgot to Ask)

Yeah that's an old recall your dealer should have done it before it left the shop. It was for 12 model also. I changed mine before the recall but after a few harnesses were burnt. It looked like my original had gotten hot. The new one on the left much thicker wire. Changed mine in Nov 13

That didn't apply the 2014 though did it? I thought the OP said that his bike was a 2014

It's the headlight wire recall for the 2012 and 2013, but came out in 2014. Read it here:
