I am considering buying a 2015 Super Tenere ES with 25k on the odometer. Any red flags for that year and Model? I am looking to use it for highway long distance riding, have a BMW 650GS for off road stuff. Thanks,

No worries. Ask if the seller has any maintenance records. Change fluids and a (soon) valve check and you're good for many (s)miles!

I wouldn't bat an eye at the mileage. If you take care of these bikes, they'll easily carry you beyond 100,000 miles. There are members here who've gone beyond 200,000. My 2014 (virtually the same bike except for color) has racked up over 95,000 so far, with zero issues. I've done a lot of cross country loaded two up touring on it, and it's a superb platform for that sort of riding. It'll handle hours of interstate riding with ease, and it'll just as easily take you down into Shafer Canyon in Moab. In all those miles, the only parts I've had to replace were a rear wheel bearing and a steering head bearing, and the mileage of the bike you're considering is well below the point that I had to replace those items. I had the brake light switch recall done, but I think the wiring harness recall only applied to the 2012-2013 models. There was a recall for certain 2015 Super Teneres (Super Tenere (XTZ12F/FC) and Super Tenere ES (XTZ12EF/EFC) manufactured between Sept 1, 2014 and Nov 7, 2014) for an incorrectly manufactured shift cam segment stopper in the transmission. You can ask the owner if his bike fell under the recall and if it was done, and you can verify if the recall applies to the bike by checking its VIN through the NHTSA's website.

These bikes don't really have a "thing" that people in general get worked up over. There isn't really a Super Tenere version of the KLR doohickey, or the V-Strom stator, or the 1200GS final drive. The cam chain tensioner on the pre-2014 models had complaints of early failure, but that CCT version has been superseded twice since then. I don't recall seeing any widespread issues with the newer CCT versions. You'll see threads on this forum about ABS module failures on various model years, but I remain unconvinced that this issue is as widespread as some claim.

You may end up not liking a Super Tenere, but it'll never be because it's a "problem" bike.
