When I was at the NYC bike show, last week, I looked at the new red Tenere. It appeared that they modified the front fender to cover more of the front shock tubes. Did anyone else notice this...or...am I "really" getting old?

You are probably looking at a World Crosser.

You can clearly see that the 2015 fender does cover the front tubes more than the previous model (non worldcrosser). The arch where the fender starts to crown on the 2014 and earlier model is below where the fork tubes seal. In the 2015, the arch starts at the point where they seal.

Good eye ;)

Is the world crosser a European option? How is it different from a standard S10 or ES available in the US?

I can clearly see one is on a center stand with suspension extended and the other suspension compressed.

The fenders are indeed the same.

The part number has not changed for the Tenere of any year, other than the various paint codes.

What I'm seeing is a difference in the amount of exposed fork leg, not a change in the fender. Strange though, isn't the ground clearance the same between the two years?

Probably because the blue bike is propped up on its centre stand and has no weight on the forks.
