Is there a thread anywhere that covers the rider weight range for a given spring rate? For example that 550 spring, what rate range is that good for?

What is the stock spring ES rating lbs/inch. Did the spring from Summit require any type of spacer? Thanks

I don’t recall the OEM ES spring rate, but the 550 spring from Summit is about 20% stiffer. Yes, I had to use a spacer with that spring. It’s both a little shorter (-10mm) and does not taper to meet the seat the way the OEM does.

I unplugged the electrical connectors from both the pump (under the small cover on the right side) and from the top of the shock. Remove all the wire hose and cable guides. Unbolt the lower linkages, the top bolt on the shock and the remote reservoir. Once you wiggle the shock out the right side (it’s tight in there) the pump, shock and remote reservoir can all be removed from the bike together without opening the hydraulic preload or remote reservoir lines
Thanks for sharing this info on removing the ES shock.

Somebody needs to get involved with this tread and give us some good replacement springs and collar info. Surely we are not all driving under sprung bikes because nobody makes a replacement spring strong enough for the ES. Thanks, desperately under sprung in AZ

I have just completed this modification today I added 10mm total to the spring cups and made equal sizes both ends, I am quite disappointed as I think the spring is still to soft, I would recommend starting with approx 600- 650lb spring I am 220lb rider with some luggage Mrs now and then cheers

I have been testing my new spring, actually if the rebound is on 15 clicks from fully clock wise it feels very good about 20-25% stiffer with no preload I have used thicker spacers than above +10mm
