I am 6' 2" with 36" inseam, short torso, seat in high position, Shoei GT Air size medium helmet. What I've tried:
1) OEM screen and bracket- fail.
2) OEM screen and Madstad bracket in all positions- fail.
3) Proceeded to cut down OEM screen in 1" increments until it was only 1" above the top mounting holes, along with many different positions of Madstad bracket- fail.
4) National Cycle V-Stream mid size screen on Madstad- worst combo yet, couldn't get that screen off fast enough.
5) CalSci tinted shorty on Madstad- very good, helmet shaking turbulence gone, I can read highway signs from a distance now. I have the Madstad up about an inch and leaning all the way back. I'm keeping this combo for warm weather use.

I just ordered the 21" (low) Parabellum to try next for colder weather. Interestingly, I received a call from them the same day to verify if I really wanted their shortest screen. They asked about my stature, etc., and recommended I go with the 25" (tall) screen, saying they would cut it down for free to whatever height I like if I wasn't satisfied. So I agreed to go with their recommendation. If you like, I can report back on that combo once I get it sorted.

I would love a report on the Parabellum. I am a short 8 hour ride from the listed address for Parabellum. Not too far from TAIL of the Dragon ride ...

I am 6"5" with the 36" inseam. I got a super size Parabellum (23"?) raised to the highest point on the 2014 adjustable stock mount. It makes the air very calm and can ride with the visor open up to 70 mph.
But it's a barn door. I also made some brackets to support the mount so my GPS wouldn't vibrate, which was necessary with the big screen.

I am 6' with a 32" inseam
22" Madstad Tenere Shape Windshield
Madstad Bracket
OEM side deflectors

I set the screen at the lowest setting and set the ange at 60 degrees. Short ride up to 70mph and very clean buffet free.

I had the lower 20" Madstad sport shaped shield which was better than the stock shield, but I was still getting some buffeting on the top of my helmet. So I sent it back for the 22" Tenere shape and it was just what I was looking for! ::001::

6'-4", 34" inseam. I just have the stock windscreen in the high position. It's fine, this is a motorcycle, not a cage.

Just curious, they guys who complain of buffeting, do you wear a helmet? Shield up? Occasionally I'll take a short ride without a helmet and I notice buffeting, but never with a helmet on and shield down.

Seems so far that " tallest Parabellum" windscreen may be the best direction for Tall riders on 2014+ for wind noise turbulence ...

I use a HJC Max Air 4XL modular helmet and with many windscreens the turbulence is so bad my vision is blurred at interstate speeds. Also cannot hear the helmet speakers Sena 20S and have to use ear buds to use the Sena at highway speeds.

I found the Madstad bracket did not help me but the OEM winglets helped with back draft

When I experienced buffeting it was extreme. At highway speeds it was tough to read road signs. I wore an HJC CL Max 2 modular helmet with the shield down. I am now using a different helmet, so maybe the helmet was a bigger culprit than I thought?? I don't think anyone here is looking to free of all wind like you are in a car, just not having your head beat around so bad that your eyes cross.

Followup report:
Okay, I got my Parabellum tall (25") windscreen yesterday afternoon and got it all mounted up that evening. First off let me say that this screen is much thicker than my Calsci Shorty screen I've been using; build quality, fit and finish all seem very good. As mentioned above, I mounted it on a Madstad bracket. Initially I had the Madstad set at the lowest setting and right in the middle of the angle adjustment.
Let me also add here that I have a Russell Day Long saddle on order with a build date of March 1st. With that in mind, I overinflated my Airhawk R and put that on the seat to try to simulate the lift I will get with the RDL (an inch, maybe?)
Test riding the setup today for about an hour in 28-29 degrees F with NW winds in the 12-15 mph range with higher gusts. I found that setting the Madstad at the lowest setting and leaned almost all the way back gave me the smoothest airflow at all speeds up to 75 mph (I didn't test at any faster speeds today). I was also able to see over the screen at this setting by about 2-3" (I hate looking through windscreens). I still had some air available for my helmet top vents.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that wind gusts did not blow me around near as much as I had experienced with a mid-size V-Stream last fall, although both screens are almost the same height. >Edit: I should mention that the V-Stream also had a lot more flex to it in the wind, the Parabellum is very sturdy.<

Overall, I am happy with this setup. I find the airflow to be smooth and quiet, with none of that vision blurring turbulence I had with the OEM screen. I believe I could ride cross country with this screen with no problems. I will be using it for fall-winter-spring, and then swap in my Calsci Shorty for summer weather.

Harry, if you have questions for me about this, I will be happy to answer them.

6'2", most of it in the torso so I likely sit more like someone 6'4 or 5. The turbulence when I first bought the bike was horrendous so I put a Parabellum tall on. That took care of that but I was still getting more wind noise that I really wanted on a bike that I ride for hours and hours at a time while on tour (what I use it for). So next I added the Madstad bracket which let me dial it in a bit more. After that, I added the winglets but a I never was sure they helped much. Still tho, I get more wind noise than I wanted & it seems to be coming form the sides towards the top (I have a very large head, 3XL, so that may have something to do with it). The new Vstreem for the Gen 2 bikes is out and as it is wider at the top that the Parabellum I'm going to give that a try once the weather breaks. No matter what your height, or your inseam, or your helmet everyone is different which is why there is such a cottage industry for things like seats and bars and screens. For me tho, taller and wider screens seem help the most, YMMV.

I purchased an adjustable spoiler from this seller on eBay "Spielberg 2012"

Using the windshield at the third position and seat in the high position I get very little wind and noise.

That's where I had mine, really cheap and quick delivery to the UK. Well made for the price too.

Was good but when I bought the Yamaha Winglets it was even better - this reduced even more wind buffeting

6'5" tall. I'm using a 25" Parabellum (Tall) on a Madstad bracket with OEM Yamaha winglets. The Parabellum made a HUUUUGE difference. The winglets and Madstad added a bit to the cockpit comfort, but not near as much. I had a MRA x-screen touring winglet available for install to help with the turbulence over the top of the screen, but never got around to installing it. It didn't seem necessary. There's a little more shake than I'd like, but I haven't figured out how to brace the Madstad and still keep its adjustability. Actually, the Parabellum worked just fine on the stock Yammie bracket.
So, 70% improvement from the Parabellum, 15% from the Madstad, and 15% from the winglets.

I had the Russian spoiler, but lost it (don't ask!). But it had a lot of distortion. Is there a similar option with quality optics that still move the wind?

Madstad support arms? I am not familiar with them. What do they do?
