There should be a prize. Apart from the new bike that is. Congrats. 8)

Pleasant surprise that it came in matte gray--same as my 2013 S10. Hope you enjoy your new ride. Can't wait to see close-ups on all the new goodies. Hope you post lots of pictures soon! ::006::

Yamaha Motor Corporation USA

Cypress, CA 90630 USA
Corporate Phone Number: 1-714-761-7300
Customer Service Number: 1-800-962-7926

I called Yamaha and spoke with a very nice lady in Customer Service. I explained my interest in the 2014 Super Tenere and that I am looking to purchase one if it is released in the US. She thanked me for my input and said she would forward my comments. She then went on to explain that if I wanted more attention to the matter, I should write their Legal Department (at the same address above) and let them know as well. She did not know why their Legal Department was the place to go to, but that they would definitely be interested in my comments.

I took her advice and wrote them a letter a few days ago asking them to sell me a 2014 Super Tenere. We'll see what happens. My position is: if the 2014 Tenere is released in the US, I am taking full credit for Yamaha's decision to do so! :)

Congrats on your new 2014 ES, all the best.
He didn't get the ES; he bought the 'base model.' ::001::

My dealer in Canada has confirmed my order for a 2014 ES model.

The model designation here is: XTZ12EEG. Yamaha Canada says expect delivery late April, early May, but it may be a bit sooner than that.. we'll see.

Well, my Honduras dealer was right. My 2014 S10 came in yesterday and today it's mine.

Has anyone come from a Valkyrie to the S10? I loved the Valkyrie, but at 72, I think it would be too heavy for me now. Dealer allowed me a test ride on a leftover 2012 last year and I found it EZ to like in the 5 minutes I rode it. Had to wait for the 2014 though, for all the good reasons.

That,s about it. Tired and going to bed.

Best,
Scott

I sent message to Presto Japan, complaining about late delivery in Mid April,
which is after consumption tax increase by 3%, but they ignore my message and no reply :'(

However, one of Yamaha authorized dealer network YSP, provide nice package.
If I order by 2/28, they will give me free accessories, worth of $1200.
I can select not only from S10 accessaries, but also from other general accessaries,
such as helmet, glove, maintenance goods etc, as long as such accessaries are shown on
Y's gear accessory book.
(Y's gear is another Yamaha subsidiary, selling genuine accessories)

One issue is that the only one YSP shop which provide this package is 2 hours away from my home,
so I am hoping that other near YSP shops do the same sales. :D

Still, I can't wait 2 more month, so I seriously consider to buy Serow as my 2nd bike, this weekend.

Hey Rocky,
That pic had me in stitches. The missus and I were there recently to catch Brion James. Next time call me when on-island. 9486-7773. Where I live, out by Palmetto Bay Plantation, the road is all dirt. And now, after a hard rainy season, it's half mud. It's Scheduled for paving over the next 20 months. With the crazy island traffic and it being so small, I will keep the S10 over in La Ceiba (mainland) at my Yamaha dealer along with my Majesty 400. Then we will 2-up throughout Central America. Biking on-island is no fun. However, once my road is paved I'll bring over the maxi-scoot.
Look me up if you return.....and thanks for the Bananarama photo!
Best,
Scott

OK, I know every one knows some one that knows something and in the end, they all know nothing. With that disclaimer, I'll tell you what I know. I had contact with a Yamaha regional sales rep yesterday and he tells me that the 2014 Tenere should be at the dealers in March. The first, middle or last of the month he doesn't know, just March.

I also left a similar message on Presto's Facebook Japan page, asking why didn't they put it on sale before the tax hike. Seems easy to do considering that they have some in country all ready. No reply there either.

120,000 in accessories is not a bad deal, except that most of them are way overpriced. Which dealer is that? I've been using Kawasaki Chuo, nice manager there.

Pick up the Serow, I will show you some good rindos in Chiba... ::024::

Hi,

2014 ZE riding review (unfortunately spoke only in Japanese)
ヤマハ XT1200ZE スーパーテネレ (2014) バイク試乗レビュー YAMAHA XT1200ZE Super Tenere (2014) Review

2014 ZE styling and detail (silent)
ヤマハ XT1200ZE スーパーテネレ (2014) スタイリング&ディティール YAMAHA XT1200ZE Super Tenere (2014) Styling & Details

------ and my confession ---
I could not wait 2 more months to have new ZE delivered,
and I found KTM 1190 Adventure R at bargain price and got it.
So, I love S10, I love Yamaha (but not Presto), but this time I tried different one.
However, I still feel that I might come back to S10 after a price of used S10 become reasonable.

I will occasionally check this forum, so if you have question about Yamaha Japan, Japan itself,
please PM me, I am more than happy to reply.

Thanks, and enjoy the ride.

Taka

I noticed in the video that it looks like they changed the supporting plastic under the headlight and will no longer accept after market lights as easy as they do now? I may have been looking at it wrong or missed something? :-\

We cannot make these conclusion until we have the real thing. Any man made stuff can be modified.
