Pretty sure that even the standard '14 comes with the adjustable screen and alloy side stand.
Yep mine has the adjustable screen and alloy side stand (its painted black though)

Seems I have the 2014 colour scheme on the 2013 spec.

Just got in from the Motorcycle Show and checked out the new 2014 S10. I want one of the fully loaded models. Anyone wanta buy a 2012 with most of the extras? 46,000kms. $10,500. cdn. The new VStrom 1000 is very nice also, especially in red. The only other big that I liked was the new 1190 KTM Adventure but expensive. Been there. Want another S10 please.

Not really sure about the speedo. I think it has 4 ways though. Was much more interested in Shift on the fly Traction Control, which it still doesn't have. None of the stuff on the 14 will fit on the older models. The one I saw was that flat charcoal color. Hope they will have the blue again. Didn't really talk to anyone about the bike. Once you sit on the bike, you can see many of the differences and they are all good.

The CDN model will not have an MPH speedo, which is really stupid. The switch gear does have a flash to pass and 4 way flashers. My CDN '13 FJR has the same switch gear and the speedo is not switchable to MPH.

I just switch the GPS to MPH when I'm in the US.

on a more fickle note, i like the bodywork panel on the rear right hand side subframe - my '13 model always looks like it is missing something there - think this new panel will be retrofittable?

I know there are 3rd party items on the market but they tend to focus on simply blocking the gap from the inside of the wheel arch if that makes sense - this looks more in tune with the design of the bike.

The panel stop water/rain water from soaking the right leg.

Someone else mentioned here that the cover may not work for people with an aftermarket shock that has the reservoir strapped in that place. I'm sure it could be modified to fit.

Is that the passenger leg or rider's leg. I haven't noticed an issue as the rider, but could see it as a problem for a passenger.

I agree, I thought the same thing. :)

I don't ride 2up so can't speak for that but the riders (mine) leg can get soaked. I have an aftermarket rear shock so I went with a hugger. The hugger can be an issue with stick mud.

Surely this is a misprint concerning suspension travel:

Electronically adjustable 43mm KYB inverted fork offer 135mm (5.4") of wheel travel. Adjustments include compression and rebound damping.
•Electronically adjustable link Monocross rear suspension with KYB shock offers 125mm (4.8") of wheel travel. Adjustments include spring pre-load and damping.
Yikes, there's only have 7.5" as it is! Yeah, I hope that's a misprint.

**OK, I just looked at the spec sheet for the 2014 ESA-equipped model. Travel front and rear is 190mm (about 7.5"), so that's the same as previous years.**

Presto Japan officially announce the price of 2014 Model
http://www.presto-corp.jp/lineups/14_xt1200ze/index.php

ZE=approx 16,300 USD
Z = approx 15,300 USD

Very disappointing info is that expected delivery date is early April... How could I survive 3 more months without any motorcycle...
also, consumption tax is scheduled to increase from 5% to 8% starting from April... so sad additional 3% tax...

My old World Crosser came from France and it took 1 month for delivery.
As discussed here, I am a victim of silly Japanese regulation.

Thanks for that Taka. If the date is accurate that would dovetail nicely with my ideal. Those prices wouldn't be a surprise.

It really is a shame what you guys have to go through to buy a bike that comes from your own back yard.

Well, my Honduras dealer was right. My 2014 S10 came in yesterday and today it's mine. It's the basic model in matte gray. I love the new dash. Cruise control, alum. sidestand, 4-way adj. windshield, etc. Tomorrow they start adding the black SW Motech engine guards, the black panniers, black passenger backrest from Cher-Dan and a small black Pelican top case that sits about even with the top of the backrest. Stock Battlewings. Wife and I both have Airhawks in case we need them. Airhawks doubled my riding distance on my Honda Valkyrie. Can't wait to get it on the road and tour through the Honduras mountains. There are lots of nice B & B's we found when we toured on my Yamaha Majesty 400 last summer. There are 4 clubs with over 100 nice bikes down here, including Harley, beemers, ducati, KTM, Moto Guzzi, Aprilia and that brand that Harley used to sell??? Can't recall. There are now 3 S10's here. Two gray and one fast blue.

Has anyone come from a Valkyrie to the S10? I loved the Valkyrie, but at 72, I think it would be too heavy for me now. Dealer allowed me a test ride on a leftover 2012 last year and I found it EZ to like in the 5 minutes I rode it. Had to wait for the 2014 though, for all the good reasons.

That,s about it. Tired and going to bed.

Best,
Scott
