Fitted my Zumo 590 today on the screen cross brace which im well pleased with as its in exactly the right place for me in my field of vision. However as already said by others it vibrates like hell making the sat nav almost unreadable, has anyone put any kind of support onto the screen brackets making it firmer? I've had a look and thinking it's not that hard to do possibly from the bottom of the adjustment slide onto the wind deflector mounts. Any ideas out there?

I do believe this was covered a while back, someone place a aluminium tube (flat bar would also work) from the screen bracket to the wind deflector mount points to create an "A" configuration, worked well from all accounts, have a search on the forum, I'm sure you'll find it.

Thankyou I did a search and couldn't find that , i'll look again.
yes that's what I did, used lightweight tent poles and flattened the ends to bolt through, fixed to the outside of the winglet holes but will have to move to the inside when I put winglets on, works really well with just a very slight vibration

Try something like this. Makes the whole arrangement very firm

My fix, based on Caillou' excellent tutorial ::008::
And a fine fix it is ::008::

Mine's pretty mch vibration free with a 590 ...which is not a small unit ::003::
