I know it has been debated about is the 2014 restricted or not, but I had not seen a definitive answer anywhere.

Apparently it is, I heard from CJS who have been working with the 2014 ECU and he confirms it is restricted, but he said not as badly as the earlier model, and the change from restricted to unrestricted is far smoother.

These are the throttle maps from 6th and 2nd, you can see 6th allows full power from as low as 3500 rpm, but in 2nd you do not get that until 7,000rpm, he said the bike would bog with full throttle below 3500rpm anyway so not having full throttle below that is not a problem, but it can certainly benefit from full throttle above that figure.

I have highlighted where full throttle kicks in, and on the 2nd gear diagram 3500 rpm which is where in top you can have full throttle, but in 2nd you can only get 67%.

This does not answer the question how much difference would a flash make, and I suspect not a huge one - unless you also sorted the fuelling which is still weak in the closed loop and rich at the top end.

I would say on my bike the original flash did a fair job of removing restrictions, but the custom setup on the dyno made the bike "feel" a lot nicer with it being noticeably smoother and the tickover more steady, I also really love my 1:1 throttle mapping which just feels so "right" and think a good flash especially with custom fuelling would make the 2014 noticeably better.
