I am 208 lbs naked, 220 with gear. My typical riding routine involves 50% of freeway commute until I get to my favorite twisty road (the other 50%.)
I understand my pre-load settings should be rider plus luggage due to me above than average weight, less bouncing. For the dampening, I use the soft (0) when on the freeway and either Standard +3 or Hard +1 when riding hard (I think I like the Hard +1 better.) It feels right but like they say, ignorance is bliss. Having eighty something combinations, I want to make sure I am not limited to the 2-3 settings that I think work for me. Am I in the right direction, does this make sense to you, any advice?

101 views, no replies. Did I say anything wrong? Any ES owners out there that can explain how they use the different settings, and when?

I'm 250 with gear. I have my preload set for just me and I commute soft-3. Around town it's med +2 because the roads are so effed. When I'm doing the twisties I switch between med +3 and hard(0-3 depending on where I'm going) hard is usually to stiff for fast sweepers if there are any bumps. My goal is to have the suspension stiff as possible but compliant and settled while leaned over and hitting bumps.

The best advice I could give is play with the extremes. Turn the damping all the up, ride a bit, then turn it all the way down. Dial it in from there once that is done you should be good unless you change something.

Lutsie, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I will try your idea about the extremes, and narrow it down.
