Thanks for the link to your pics. I'm selling my '13 FJR and '12 S10 and getting it. I would have preferred it in white, but I'll take it. The S10 has been my favoring bike of all time and I've had more bikes than I care to admit.

i'm guessing you're after the ES, and CC?

expect US msrp to be at $14 and $15 respectively.

Thanks for the link..... I've noticed several times in press photos that the 2014 does not have the cross over tube in the stock headers... These photos confirm they have removed it from the 2014 similar to the ARROW aftermarket..... Wonder what they found by removing it ? Great looking bike... For myself I think I still like the old school tachometer... When aggressively riding off road I can see the needle much quicker than the black LCD 'new model'... Most folks probably don't ride the Tenere off road like I do, so im probably the strange one, but the new LCD does look cool !!

Hate the new LCD....I love the mix on my '13 of analog and digital.
Never liked ESA stuff, just too fiddly and too expensive to fix if/when it breaks.
CC would be nice and a gear indicator would also, but neither are deal breakers to me.
I like a filler under the headlight, but that one does not impress.
I actually do not like the fill panels under the seat.
The windshield adjuster bracket...man I hope that is aftermarket and not OE, If OE I am VERY glad I bought my '13
Overall I am happy I did not wait.

Not knocking Yami of the bike, just comparing to what I got and what I paid for it....= ::012:: me

"...the color of a prosthetic limb..." - funny stuff, there Greg.!!

I am keeping my '12.

It needs nothing and is ready to go cross country any day I throw a leg over her.

I noticed the price has jumped significantly. So be it....makes mine more desirable.

Good post.!!!

Good show Greg! Thanks for your writing

My opinion Honda should fire their stylist or at least cane him real good.
Awful looking bikes. Honda has been the biggest let down to me over the last several years.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Just as a side note. The new windshield bracket requires a major in mechanical engineering. Straight forward it is not.
I'm not a fan of the new tach/speedo, but tastes differ.

The new suzuki is ok. Typical suzuki. The pipes underneath the bike look like a mess, otherwise, if they punt it out the door for $11000 CDN then it would be worth it.

Sorry greg, I'm calling you out... ;)

The windscreen bracket just doesn't look complicated - at least no moreso than a Madstad - two knobs, turn, move windscreen, tighten.

The KTMs are reliable - my 690 Enduro R has thousands of miles, 2 years of use with oil changes and regular maintenance - runs just fine. ('course, not I'll walk into the garage and find it melted into a puddle or something...LOL)

...oh, and yeah, I'm with ya on the engine and performance...woo freakin' hoo!

Very interesting Greg.

The versys 1000, just as ugly and pointless, as when it first showed up
Well I agree with the ugly, but pointless?

Is it any more pointless than an MTS? Just really a IL4 version of one of those with less fancy isn't it?

Maybe me and the yamaha rep didn't know how to work it, but there's two adjustments. One for a simple slider, and another that moves the entire windshield up or down in position.
The only OEM bracket that I liked was on the new wc GS.

Regarding KTM...Not my personal experience but my buddy's 690r. Pretty sure it has something to do with the stock fuel pump. I do like those bikes, a lot. The power is out of this world.

MTS=multi strada? you lost me. The multistrada is simply bonkers. Not my cup but whatever.

i'm sure the verys is a fine road bike, but they simply missed the mark on that one. It has no real segment. No 19 inch rim, fell out of the ugly tree hitting every branch on the way down.
It never looked well finished (muffler, rear rack), and that low muffler that prevented fitting any sort of centerstand never made sense. That said, I really should shut up, as my new fz9 has the same type of muffler, and no chance of fitting a center stand. That said on long trips, I'll simply spray and roll, spray and roll ::010::

"...the color of a prosthetic limb..." I don't get it, mine is black carbon fiber ;)

Thanks for the pictures, don't have a bike now so these threads are good entertainment for me.

Thanks for sharing the bike show pics Greg.

Good to see the new S10 with its incremental improvements and bold new graphics! ;)

It would be the same segment as the other jacked up 17Inch wheel High HP bikes. I mean they could have added all the wizz bang stuff to it and a ZX10R motor and charged appropriately, and then everyone would be having a whinge about the price. Part of that price could have been paying for some more clay models. ;D

That's the way the Japanese manufacturers usually have to play it. A cheap version of "something".

On the other hand the previous generation of Multies weren't that inspiring either.

Buy a chain oiler. They worked for me. (CLS is a good thing)

I did install a scott oiler on my 06 dl1000. It was okay. Messy as shit.
The FZ will not see a lot of highway action, but i'm dragging it 2000 plus KM south in feb. for a ride.
i do have a decent chain lube that sticks, but it will be getting applied daily.

Nice write up Greg!
I was at the show Friday afternoon and met Redcat while looking over the 2014 S10.
Not sure there was anything there that I would swap my 2013 S10 for....maybe the KTM......still like the look of the Triumph..... just checked my lottery ticket and it appears I'll be sticking with what I have ::008::
