I went with the Yamaha tall screen and Yamaha winglets on my 2014. Works great for me. Yamaha tall screen has the same accents as the stocker so it looks great on the bike.

I went with the Yamaha tall on my 2014, it pretty good for the money but not quite as good as the Cee Baileys medium I had on my 2012.

I looked at the OEM taller one. $300????? Really Yamaha? They don't even give you specs on height and width.

I have a 2015 and also went with the OEM taller windscreen and winglets.
I'm 6'-2" and the wind protection is fine for me. -JEP-

Mine was around $100, iirc.
The $300 is Canadian. We're used to getting beat up on almost everything we buy. I ordered a Cal Sci windshield that's 6" taller and 2-3" wider. Sounds like they know a lot about aerodynamics and it was cheaper than OEM. I'll post up a review of it when it gets here and I get some bugs on it.

On my 2014 ES. with my specs 6'3" inseam 32 " frame 290 lbs

Winglets and tall OEM Yamaha did not work for me

Madstad bracket + (+ 1" to the standard Largest web site listed Madstad Windscreen (Just ask for it) works great for me with my Nolan N104 XXXL helmeted head and Sena 20S
(note: the standard largest Madstad windscreen did not work for me)

Only a little over 100 interstate miles with it and so far it is a winner for my body. (And love the accessory bar on the Madstad bracket for my GPS mount)

I added on the MRA lip to the stock screen and I think I finally got it dialed in to where I like it. No buffeting, wind noise is minimal, and I like the look over a huge shield. I currently have winglets on but I think they are coming off as it warms up (It's effing snowing today...well flurries)

I'm using a Madstad bracket with the MRA vario windshield w/ adjustable lip. 6'2", 32" inseam. Best of many different windshields and combinations that I've tried.

My Cal-SCi shield is better, but not great. Any side wind and there isn't much benefit. 6" taller and 2-3" wider. Maybe the winglets are the way to go.

Still have wind noise but it's better. If I raise it up to the top two settings, I get a backdraft. I think it would be better if it didn't tilt forward as it went up. But that's not a Cal-Sci problem, that's Yamaha design. I might look at trying to tilt it back somehow.

I ended up going with the Parabellum Tall (25 inch). I"m 5'11'' with a 32 inch inseam and have the stock seat in the low position on a 2014 standard. I had originally gone with the medium version thinking I could "get away with it" since I was just on the cusp on sizing and didn't want a giant shield. It was a revelation (no wind noise, could hear the engine, still some wind on the shoulders) until I went over 50 mph and then I'd have a little leprechaun dancing a jig on my head. Made the exchange for the next size up( Parabellum was great) and the tall with the 2014 stock mount in the high position gives a quiet non buffeting ride and I can still see over the shield most of the time. I'm still switching back and forth riding my vstrom with a madstad and Givi tall, which I thought gave me great wind management, but this beats it. No issue with lock to lock steering hitting the shield at all. Nicely finished and not bad looking to my eyes. If I want more air, I can always drop the bracket, but it hasn't been an issue.

I am 6'5" with a 36" inseam and ride the 27" XL Parabellum on the highest position. I mostly hear engine noise and little wind. Today I rode 325 miles at speeds up to 80 mph and when I ducked the noise wasn't changing so this definitely does the trick for me. Still using earplugs so I can listen to music via my Sena header.

I have some hearing damage because I've been stupid. Over the winter I have gotten a constant tinnitus. I think it makes wind noise more egregious. Here's my solution and I'm very happy with it. Cal-Sci 6" over shield, HJC RPHA-10 helmet, custom fitted ear buds. The helmet was the final solution for me. I had an Arai XD-3 with the new shield and have had the ear buds for a while. Changing to the HJC was like night and day for wind noise. The XD-3 was a good helmet, but noisy.

When I read you guys, I'm really surprised that many of you try different type of windshield. Does your dealer take it back when it does not perform as it should? Otherwise, the 2nd hand market should be saturated with used windshields, which is not the case...
