$7k is a smoking deal for this bike, particularly considering the quality of your accessory choices.

I have a '13 which I've been considering listing, but there's no way I would let mine go for that price. If that range is what I've to look forward too, then I'll just continue to enjoy running up the miles for a couple more years before I strip off the accessories to sell individually, and finish up selling the bike on Craigslist as a high mileage, well maintained commuter.

Chuck, yes thank you (I think). Phil called last night with ticket info and is headed this way on Saturday. When you see the bike in person, please don't think less of me, rather , it's the spirit of giving. He is really getting the deal most of us would dream of. Unfortunately, I don't ride like I used to and my bike begs to be ridden daily. I am sure he is going to Love it. Thanks again. If you find yourself in the San Marcos Tx area look me up .

I think you can consider it sold. He seems very excited about it...he's been going back n forth over getting the S10, GS or Vstrom the last few months.

Sounds like your buddy is in the same situation, I've been doing the same between the S10 and GS. I just responded to PM, but looks like I'm missing the boat (and much farther away). GLWS!

I've owned 6 GS's. 5 of the 6 were straight off the showroom and I put over 100K on all of them. I swore them off a number of years ago...just couldn't deal with BMWNA and all the little problems. (yes, I'm one of those with sour taste in my mouth) If I was looking at a new ADV (mine spend nearly 50% offroad) I'd be be looking at the Honda AF or new KTM 1090R. I got to spend some time on the AF...impressive offroad for a 500+lb bike.

Interesting. I do very, very little off road. The adv bikes are just the most comfortable ergo-wise for me. I did spend 3500 miles aboard a GSW rental on the west coast. I loved riding it. But the first one, with less than 5k on it, left me stranded in San Bernadino. Eagle rider delivered me another one. But that's the only time I've ever been stuck road side by a motorcycle that just wouldn't run.

Sorry for the highjack and back to selling this green beauty!

Chuck, Thanks for the hook up. Phil is on his way home. Picked him up at the airport and fed him a Texas burger, then brought him home. Showed him the features and off he went for a test drive and came back a little startled I think. Said that the bike has a lot of power. Did not have the heart to tell him that there was a lot more if he got on to it. Hope he does not get too cold as it is expected to get into the 32 range tonight. Thanks again and farewell for the time being. Merry Christmas everyone.

Already heard from him...very happy. He originally packed thinking AZ/Tx is similar weather. Had to remind him So AZ is actually quite cold(er) and expect near freezing temps. These new guys... ::002::
