My bike died on the 2024 NYD ride with a low batterie. I have done lots of tests since.
Tests performed. Milo

Measured the batterie voltage. It was low 12.5VDC.

I charged the batterie and it came up to 13.1VDC.

KOEO Batterie check 13.2VDC 13.3 over 5K RPM.

Checked stator ohms at the regulator/rectifier connector, (3 white wires) KOEO. It looked ok but was hard to measure because the spec is something like 0.1 to 0.2 ohms

New regulator/rectifier KOEO same as before.

Remover all but essential fuses, KOEO same as before.

Measured regulator/rectifier output with output disconnected with KOEO, 14VDC

Measured regulator/rectifier output while connected, (back probed connector) with KOEO, 5K RPM 13.8VDC

Measured ground, batterie neg to engine, 0 ohms.

Measured 3 phase output from stator with Reg/Rec disconnected. KOEO. 19v per phase at Idle.

Measured white stator wires with Reg/Rec disconnected. All are grounded. Need to look at schematic.

Ordered a new stator due to grounded reading. waiting for part

I’m sorry this is happening to you. It looks like you’ve done a thorough diagnostic to resolve the issue. Do you mind if I ask, “how many miles are on your motorcycle?”

If you think that the stator is burned out...before replacing it, you should check the general consumption of the motorcycle. Have you added anything new lately that requires electrical power and could have pushed the generator almost to the limit?…..The magneto has a power of only 43 Amp, “but” at 5000 rpm

Here's my .02 worth. I've replaced a lot of stators over the years (100's). I would not put any of the China stators in. You're lucky if they last six months or six miles. Your best bet is the oem Yamaha part, but they are expensive. In this case, I would call Ricks Electrics and see about them rewinding your stock stator. I've bought a lot of electrics from Ricks and and the quality has always been good. JMO
