Simply put: add termi's and you finally can appropriately give the hardley guys a solid finger and speed off in a raped ape sort of fashion.........

and no...that is not a roll of quarters in my pocket. Well, maybe dimes..... :p

i do believe it was made with the VMAx in mind. Ducati can't/won't compete with the true cruiser crowd....nor should they. hence this "new" class of power cruisers coming out. Kinda of chopper/rocker type bike. Obviously sin forward handlebars, but nekkid and shorty tail are right in line with a traditional rocker.

not a fan of the headlight and its lines, but all in all, the SSSA and rear tail are quite superb

For me the seat looks like i would get stuck in there. You would need a shoe horn and a can of oil to get me in and out of that one!!! Geeeesh!!!!

I sat on one at the Seattle show and HoebSter is on the mark about the seating position. You sit DOWN in that baby. Wow. The tank feels like it's even with your chest, even though it's a bit lower. Still an entertaining feel.

As the story goes: "Diavel got its name by an off-hand comment by one its creators after they saw the bike finished for the first time exclaiming, Ignurànt comm’ al Diavel!”; which in the Bolognese dialect of Italian means: “Evil, just like the devil!”. According to the fine folks over at Ducati, this type of naming ‘convention’ is how the Ducati Monster got it’s name as well."

Here is a shot of the all black with the carbon fiber bits (which are a bit hard to see in this pic).

Here is Santa's new Rudolph. Ha. I don't think this fellow was affiliated with the show; he just likes wearing the Santa outfit. It, of course, made him quite popular with the attendies and he probably had his picture taken hundreds of times. For the below photo, the Ducati Rep ran several booths away to bring St. Nick over to the Ducati area and have him sit on this Diavel and the Multistrada for pics.

First look I couldn't tell if it was a single sided swingarm, 'cause those exhaust cans are HUGE! ;D

It's undeniably cool in a "wow", first-glance sort of way, but I can't help but think that the market for this sort of bike is getting smaller. The V-Max has sold remarkably poorly and the V-Rod has performed vastly under expectations. The B-King was a huge flop, although you could attribute this strictly to its truly hideous styling. I think riders are re-evaluating the sensability of investing this kind of money in a bike with such a limited operating envelope. Bling and excess seems to be less cool than it used to be. S10's and GS's are in, these sorts of bikes are out. Unlike the Japanese, Ducati doesn't do much market research in developing new bikes - they just have a small planning committee which builds something they think is cool. That's great, but it may get you really cool bikes that don't have much of a market.

But no doubt, it IS cool.

+2 Cool bike to have in the garage for the occassional blast down the road, but it's really only useful for that. Awfully expensive for such a limited use "toy." It would be fun, though, to cruise through Bike Week at Daytona on one. ;D

Maybe my tastes are too discriminating but I think the bike is more attractive than the girl. I doubt I could afford to keep either.
