It's been 2 years and 2 weeks since I last posted on the board, and just under 1 year since riding longer than 15 miles in any given direction. Health issues I've been dealing with for 11 years now have progressed to the point that it's affecting my career, social activities and now, the worst part - having to admit, and accept, that my riding days are over.

My S10 is in the same perfect condition as I always keep it and the odometer is at 10,100. I love looking at the damned thing and have put off listing it for sale since last Winter. Well, it's time. A local friend wanted first dibs whenever I decide to let it go, so I'll see if that's still the case. If not, well, you'll see it in the classifieds..

This getting older stuff sucks!

the worst part - having to admit, and accept, that my riding days are over.

Sir, you have my sympathy.
I was discussing the when will I stop this just yesterday. It's kinda like the 'can't I just continue until I need glasses?' philosophy.
It is way, way better for you to make the decision than a cold hearted iron and plastic machine.
I applaud your decisiveness.
Now to find my glasses.
All the best.

I hope you find passion and enjoyment somewhere else. Especially if it still has 2 or 3 wheels. 59 is too young to have to make those kind of decisions. Stay strong and I hope you stay active on the site now.

Sorry but IMO getting older doesn't suck, you should be grateful to have the opportunity of aging, many don't. It's simply a new chapter that may require some adjustments and I certainly would not want to be young again in this completely "F,up" world.
Its all about live choices, no one makes them for you unless you made bad ones. Then its about consequences for bad choices.

Soon, I ll go for 67. I had my ST about two months ago after riding 4 sport touring bikes. The ST made me feel 10 years younger :). Now I don't have to check holes in asphalt, rail roads cracks etc. When I get out of my bike I also don't feel cramped like I was on my other bikes. Now winter is coming and this really makes me feel older and mad. Guess what ? My birthday is on December 21. I'm born on the wrong side of this planet.
