2" Rox Riser Install on Gen 2

I got my 2" Rox Risers in today and installed on my '15 ST. Ran out of time and I'll finish tomorrow.
But it appears the clutch and brake hydro lines are the only thing binding. Do these just need to be
rerouted behind the forks or will I have to get new lines??

What specifically have others successfully done in rerouting lines?

Found a lot of info on the 1st Gen, but not so much on the '14+ models....

I have the 2" rox risers and did not re-route anything. I got the extended lines from rideonadv.com and everything is fine. I did use a few extra zip ties to tidy up the lines when I was done but that wasn't even necessary.

The other nice thing about getting the extended lines is that they are steel lines. They contain no rubber and will never wear out or need to be replaced unlike the stock brake and clutch lines which are supposed to be replaced every few years per the maintenance manual.

When you install the rox risers, you will probably notice some flexing of the handlebars because of the added leverage that the 2 inch riser provide. It isn't a problem, just something to note. I am currently working up a fix for that little issue but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I did mine a few months ago. You can buy a $5 kit from altrider or just look at the pic and buy the parts at a store yourself. It is IMPORTANT that you reroute the cables slightly by using the kit. This will give you the added room for the cables. No need to reroute them around anything. They basically stay in the same points of connection although slightly moved by using the kit if that makes sense. Some guys like to buy new cables that run $125 for the set which is too spendy for me. I've done about 1k miles without any issues. BTW, the electrical cables need nothing...lots of room.

I've watched this vid, is this mod or kit not just for the Gen 1??

I did this and it does help. I also moved the clutch and brake levers towards the center a little and that also helps.

Later this month I'm going to be spending the day out at Romeny with my bike just sitting there. I'm strongly considering getting the rideonadv.com and having them do the install. I think the actions I've taken to date are just barely adequate to satisfy my comfort level. For a little bit of money I can alleviate any possible concern.

I also did the extended hydraulic lines from RideOnADV and all's well. I'd recommend it.


I vaguely remember reports that there's variation in the stock line lengths - enough that some bikes stock lines will still bind with following the re-route per Altrider. So, maybe it willl work, maybe it won't.


If it does work, there's still no guarantee the full range of riser adjustment will be available due to the lines binding.
