So for $300 difference, I can buy a '16 60th Anniversary non ES
or a '15 ES. The ES being the more expensive.

I actually think I'd rather have the year older model in a ES, but I
much prefer the dealer with the yellow '16.

Would you guys that have the ES give $300 more for it, and a year older bike???

Both are brand new.....

Personally, yes. It's still a brand new bike, the yellow is too subjective, if you ever move on and want to sell, also the ES it the one to have, but again that is subjective in regards to the electronic suspension.... in the " what if it fails?" corner....

Besides, if later you wish you had a yellow one, about 800-1K you can get the yellow tank and body panels and make it look like a factory yellow.

I am opting for 2016 ES. Several reasons... from what I've been able to deduce, the ES suspension is more robust and fits my weight better (200). I'd probably have to upgrade the non-ES suspension before very long. The roads around here can go from smooth to gnarly to moonscape within 10 min of riding. Being able to adjust on the fly would be a valuable option.

Go with the ES. I'm a suspension Neanderthal, but even I can tell it's worth having.

I told the dealer I really like (he only has the yellow '16) that I had rather have the maroon colored 15 ES
at the other dealer. I asked him if he could do a dealer swap. He then called the Papa Yamaha warehouse.
They think they have a 15 ES available to ship him/me at a smoking deal. I will know for sure on Tuesday.
I'd much have the maroon ES with heated grips than the yellow standard and save $$'s.
Can't wait!!

If the dealer you like gets you the ES... ask him to swap the plastic and tank so you can have a yellow ES. Its not uncommon for Yamaha dealers to do this because of Yamaha's weird desire to not offer the US multiple colors like they do in some other markets. Even if he charges you some labor, rolling it into the purchase now will be fairly painless.

I really like the yellow but I'd have to go with the ES. After three several bikes with electronic suspension I like the idea of being able to easily switch settings. Who knows, maybe the red will grow on you and you'll forget about the yellow.
