I ride my bikes the way they come, I just get used to the OEM suspension, I never changed on any of them, I am not a big guy, as a matter of fact, I love they way my Ténéré rides, but I read a lot and as we all know, there is room from improvement, sometimes what fit you, doesn't fit the next and so on, the suspension puzzles me, right now I am having a huge desire to gift her with a Öhlins rear shock, I am not interested in other brands, so here's my request.
Please give me a good reason of why I should or shouldn't replace it.

I had ridden many bikes with OEM suspension for many years and never knew another way. Then, l bought a custom shock for my 1995 CBR900RR (this was 1996) and I was astounded at how much difference it made. I am not a super fast rider, but every time I hit a bump, made a turn or just went for a ride, I could feel the better quality.

The Problem with this? I have never been happy with an OEM suspension again. Some bikes, like the Tenere, fit my weight good enough for a year or so, but once I found out what I could have with customized, and fully adjustable suspension, I have had to upgrade every single bike since.

Don't be like people who criticize without actually ever trying this option. At least try it, then you will know.

I just installed the Ohlins shock on my bike. I haven't ridden it yet because it still winter here but just sitting on the bike feels different. I upgraded because the stock spring wasn't cutting it. When loaded for travel and my fat ass, the handling suffered.

Thank you.

Yes what you described is one of my fears, but thinking again, I love my Ténéré, without a doubt, is the best motorcycle I ever had, so why not treat it right and besides, she's here to stay. :)

Hello people.
I have a question about my ohlins shock. I want to relocate the gas reservoir. Has anyone had any luck in putting it somewhere else out of the way?

Ok thanks. I would like to see it. Hopefully it's somewhere not using the foot peg mounts. I mounted the preload adjuster to the starter motor bolt using the ohlins bracket which is now in a good position. It's just annoying when you want to remove or put back the foot pegs and you have to mess around with the shock. But still can't find a spot for the reservoir.

it makes a great bike, quite frankly amazing.
I have a yacugar fully adjustable, and have been beating on it for the last three years.
Best money spent. All my bikes follow the same pattern since then.
