Yes, it is a bit more sensitive, but purposely so. You can get used to it. I switch to Touring mode when I am just cruising or in stop and go traffic. Also off-road.

I dont have any experience with LD Comfort, but I did recently purchase some Moto Skiveez at Overland Expo in Flagstaff, AZ. Wore them for the first time on a day-long dirt bike ride where I spent several hours in the saddle of my KTM 400. The Adventure shorts with their butt pad completely...

For what its worth, I've bought many 'affordable' aftermarket LED indicators, and none of them (save the expensive Rizomas) approach the Yamaha LED indicators that come on the 2014+ models. They are small, bright and very well built. If it were me, I wouldn't think about putting anything else...
