What do we now think of the bike

I have now owned my 2015 ST ES for 18 months after purchasing new in November of 2015. 18,000 kms with forestry trunk road riding and highway touring. I thoroughly love this motorcycle. Smooth, powerful enough for me, wonderful ride, maneuverable, comfortable, great gas mileage, and very easy to...

Farthest Comfortable distance you have rode in 1 day?

420 miles from Airdrie, Alberta to Castlegar, BC. Included in that was approximately 60 miles or so of forestry logging roads. A great day of riding. Did approximately the same distance from Airdrie, Alberta to Creston BC but with no off road excursions. One day there and back the next. Bike...

    Procrastination over, deposit down.

Your decision to stay with the Super Tenere says a lot about the model. I sure have enjoyed my 2015 with 15,000 kms on it. My other machine sat except for the really long rides so I have now sold it. Here is a wish for many safe, fun, and happy riding memories on your new purchase.

Siblings: Does your S10 have a lil' brother?

I had a 2014 Victory Cross Country for my dedicated long distance touring machine. However with Polaris pulling the plug on Victory I have recently sold the Cross Country. So a long winded way of saying no brother in the garage for my 2015 Tenere. It is going to be an interesting year as friends...

What do we now think of the bike

I have put 12,000 kms on the bike since the purchase in November of 2015. I am 61 and haven't done dirt riding since my late 20's. This bike makes me feel like a pro keeping up with guys 20 years younger. 200 kms of forestry trunk roads in British Columbia Canada loaded with panniers and there...

Where did you go with your Tenere

Road from Airdrie, Alberta to Radium Hot Springs, BC via Golden, BC for a nice relaxed ride. Had an Oh Crap! moment riding through a heavily forested area close to the shoulder and saw a herd of deer on the right side of us. The deer thankfully stood still. The shade from the trees made them...

so was part of the attraction 'being different'

I like to ride whatever motorcycle is enjoyable at the time and one that will not give mechanical headaches. If BMW is that motorcycle I would have purchased it. However with continual recalls and never ending posts about final drive, oil seal issues, unenjoyable test drives BMW was not in the...

    First Service

I am curious how many owners brought their Tenere in for the first service. Was the service satisfactory and any noticeable difference in how the motorcycle performed afterword? Was anything found that needed attention? Thanks for any information people care to relate.

    Tenere GPS Wiring

I installed a Garmin Zumo 660 on my 2015 Super Tenere ES. I used the white 3 pronged plug in front of the battery. Brown for power and black for ground. I could not find anyone that had the Sumitomo waterproof plug kits locally. I contacted Joe@cycleterminal.com who sells a complete terminal...

At least it's not a GS

Donk I would sure like to know how you find the transmission on your new machine. A friend bought a 2015 R1200RT and let me take it for an afternoon. The only way I could get it to shift smoothly from first through third was very low revs and short shift it. I am curious if I was ignorant to the...

    Time to say "Goodbye"

That is a very nice motorcycle you are going to. Test rode one last September and was impressed. Here is a wish for many happy and safe miles.

Cycle World 10 Best Over The Years

I have reviewed Cycle World's 10 best bikes over the last few years. The Super Tenere was named best adventure class bike in 2012. Since then BMW and KTM have surpassed the Super Tenere. With each passing year Cycle World bestows the honor on the machine that has the newest engine, electronics...

made an offer on a tenere es

You made a great deal Rizzo. I paid $16431 out the door last month and thought it was a fair price. You are going to really enjoy this motorcycle. Good thoughts sent your way for many safe and happy miles. Cheers from Airdrie, Alberta.

At 60 years old I'm on the back 9 so I'm going while the choice is still available to me. Thanks for your reply. What tires did you run on the Tenere when you attended?

    Perspective buyer of the Tenere..

I agree with Donk. Just purchasing the S10 I took a ride on a rough section of road that usually has me bracing for the bumps and ruts on my previous rides. It was truly a pleasure to glide over rough sections. I think this bike is the one. Only time will tell but very impressed with the little...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

First oil/filter change as well as final drive fluid change. Reset oil maintenance reminder. That's probably it until next spring. I HATE WINTER!
