    Tripping Stoplight Sensors

The sensitivity of these things is adjustable. I almost never have an issue here in the Helena, MT area, but do sometimes when traveling. May not do any good, but complain to the transportation (city, county, etc) that is responsible for traffic lights in your area.

    Is my tire on backwards?

Do you not have an owner's manual?

    Is my tire on backwards?

My recommendation..... get a new set of properly sized, properly mounted and properly balanced tires.

    High speed death wobble!

Just a suggestion..... If you have not already done so, make sure both tires are mounted so that they are rotating in the proper direction.

    Hit a deer today

When I had a meeting engagement with a deer in Idaho last August, the critter hit me square on the front forks at the axle area. Destroyed the fender, mangled the auxilliary light mount and bent the fender mounting points on the left lower fork tube. I did not go down, but the impact threw me...

Off-road comparision between 1190R, GS1200 Adv, AT and Super Tenere

Spousal Unit just surprised me with the gift of a 2017 R1200GS Adventure. Still have the Tenere, so let the comparison begin.

Oil Filter leak - Operator Error?

Bosch changed some of their filters without notice from having a flat sealing surface to having a slightly convex sealing surface. I do not know if it was intentional or done inadvertently, but it appears that it continues. If I am correct and you have a filter with a convex surface, then you...

:..Love my Supa10 -- but the FJR bug has a hold on me..:

I had an FJR and then got a S10. But I kept the FJR too. That is the way to address this dilemma. If I could only have one bike (perish the thought) it would probably be the S10. Much more versatile and easier to ride in an urban environment. Thankfully, I don't live near an urban...

"FOUND" WTB: Sargent or Corbin seat

Re: WTB: Sargent or Corbin seat If that does nor work out I have one as well. Was on my 2012 when I bought it in 2015. Has 19,800 miles on it, most of the miles with a sheepskin on it and always garaged. Heated, black with blue piping. No damage. PM and I'll send pictures. Looking to get...

Advice for someone looking to get into dirt a little more...

I have no background in riding dirt bikes in my youth, but because I found myself living in Fairbanks, AK for many years, I did get some experience. I certainly think the pictures Trikepilot posted (surprising name for a rider with substantial off-road skills) show terrain above my skill level...

Advice for someone looking to get into dirt a little more...

Check ADV Rider to see if there is an ongoing thread used by riders in your state or region. If there is one, then it will be a good source of information on riding trails. Ask around at your local dealers to see if there is a local trail riding club. Even one that is primarily for ATVs can...

Can anyone share pics and reviews of Jesse bags?

I had a conversation with Al Jesse at a rally two years ago. He had just learned he had over 70 sets of luggage for the R100GS that had been sitting at a subcontractor for several years. He would send the subcontractor the parts for luggage to be welded and Al had lost track of the cases. So...

Can anyone share pics and reviews of Jesse bags?

Between Spousal Unit and I we've owned five sets of Jesse Bags, and still have four sets in the shop now. They have a very high standard for fit and finish and are extremely durable. I used to work at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks and one of the areas I supervised was campus housing...

    MSC - Motorcycle Stability Control

This system seems to function in much the same way as the BMW system on the S1000RR. Perhaps Bosch makes both systems. A few years back Keith Code wrote an article about his experiences when he switched from using the Ninja 1000 to the S1000RR as a training bike at his road racing school...

A long winded arguement for the OEM air filter

Just put a K&N decal on your bike, use the OEM filter and be done with it. Both are then contributing their maximum to the performance and longevity of your bike.
