Do you ES owners ever use the "Soft" mode when riding off road? I would be concerned that reduced damping might lead to excessive suspension travel over bumps, which of course reduces ground clearance. I have been leaving my ES in the "STD" setting when riding on rutted or washed out fire roads.

Just did a search on-line, and it appears that the OEM seat part number changes with the 2014 model year. This does not necessarily mean that the shape/slope changed significantly, but there must be at least some differences. I have a 2014 ES, and I am considering the purchase of a Sargent...

I know that folks on here love to bash BMW's, but I have a good friend who has owned many BMW boxers over the past 30 years, and they have all been pretty good bikes. I am very happy with my Super T, but I would not hesitate to buy a BMW.

The 600 mile service schedule for my 2014 ES calls for a check of the "steering bearing assemblies" for looseness. Can anyone tell me the specific bearing assemblies that this refers to so that I can refer to the correct inspection procedure in the service manual? Thanks.

Thank you, Desmo. Are you installing the Raptor bars on a 2014/2015 bike? If so, how does the Raptor model compare to the stock 2014/2015 bar geometry? I am looking for something with less sweep that the stock bars.

I have been through some torrential rain with my Outback cases and they did not leak one bit. That said, if you are going to buy some custom liners, why not get waterproof ones if the price is right? In a bind they could even perhaps be used as an external "dry" bag and strapped to your seat...

Givi is now selling waterproof liners for the Trekker Outback cases. Not sure if they are available in the US yet.

I have never done anything like the COBDR (or the TAT). How do you guys think a bike such as a BMW G650 Sertao would do on this route?

I think that location may also work for the PC-8 if the plastic protrusion was removed.
