Question for owners of 2014 and newer US model Super Teneres...did you receive a special red programming key along with the two black (normal) keys? I just read something about a red key, but I suspect it may not apply to US spec models, because I sure don't have one! Somebody straighten me out.

I've used them since 1974 - the first one being a 36 liter Vetter tank bag that snapped to the inside of my Windjammer II fairing. Today, I have the Yamaha factory bag on my S-10 and it works just fine.

Re: 2013 Yamaha Super Tenere - Loaded and Flawless I've had Russell seats on my previous three bikes, Slugo65. If total comfort is your objective, they are absolutely the best option. You can sit on a Russell with zero issues as long as you can stay awake.

I had a high end Bibler Ahwanee (sp?) that was roomy for a tall guy and very durable. It was tough to pitch with the poles on the inside of the thing though. Used it a dozen times or so before offing it for a twin shell Coleman for a fraction of the cost that was much easier to live with.

Don is correct. Unless a failure is directly attributable to a particular modification, it does not affect the warranty.

I consistently see 52-53 mpg when I'm not stretching the throttle cable. Sustained engine speed (4000 rpm +) in top gear kills it rather quickly though.

Well at least you used a drain pan, SPX. I'm all about saving a little here and there, but I also want to be welcome at my local bike shop and I want him to be there when the day comes that I need him most. All choices eventually have consequences. Even (perhaps especially) the small ones. O:-)
