Thanks for all you input. I bought some Givi bars in the end, as they are easily available in the UK and some LED lights (not Givi).

Hi I'm not sure about the exact size , but I think the bolts I used are Domed headed Hex M8 1.25 thread and around 25mm long . I did get some M3 x 8mm hex head screws for the immobilizer. Good luck with the project.

Hi Chaps What are good engine bars for my gen I S10 which are available in the UK? I have a Yamaha engine guard and the World Crosser guards too. I obviously don't want to start cutting stuff to make it fit. I have included a big picture so you can see what I mean. Cheers

I cut mine out and fitted them, great fit and look like an original fitment as the textured finish matches the mirrors . Work great, and even better now as I tilted the bars back a tad, Thanks for taking the time and sharing this mod with us and to Bimota for sorting out the plan.

After a morning ride , the seat felt a lot better. To be honest, I didn't even think about the seat during the ride, so very happy with it. Great cheap mod that works.

I just put a set of Metzeler Tourance on my S10, always have them on my BMW R1150 and they were a great tyre.

Is that Washington DC USA or Washington West Sussex UK ?

I have just installed a relay switched from the spot lights so the Oxford controller works only when the bike is on, Might save a flat battery if you leave them on, if connected straight from the battery.

I put heavier bar ends on my FJR which helped. I'll see how I get on with the new to me S10, could be another project on the lathe.

I just done the seat mod as I found the original tilt made me slide forward in my trousers and kept having to sit at the back of the seat. I'll try it out at the weekend

Quick Update. Got the bike running and got a MOT last week so on the road. I like the bike, apart from the throttle cables being in front of the dash, no gear indicator and that seat :(

The removed ignition bolts

I have just managed to change the ignition, getting the security bolts undone was a bit a mission. Thanks to Rob, I used a punch and hammer to get them out ,they did have a fair bit of thread lock on them. When I removed the old ignition from the bike I tied on another cable for each so they...

Yes bimota, they all hade loads of thread lock on them, well over the top. I only just got them undone with a decent ratchet spanner, tight all the way out. All done now :)
