Why I had to sell the Super Tenere and mods I did before selling it

I'm having so much fun on the DR, even did 600km days, but there'S no way I could put 1300km in a day like I did on the Super Tenere, and riding 2 up is not something I look forward to anymore :) Always compromises. Ideally I'd like to have a DR and ST in the garage.

Why I had to sell the Super Tenere and mods I did before selling it

Thanks Twintens, glad you enjoyed :) Sorry for the late reply didn't receive a notification. For the Airflow I had initially bought a used one with an alixpress madstad bracket, it all fit, but I couldn't use all of the adjustment. So I ordered another alixpress bracket for the 2014+ models and...

Why I had to sell the Super Tenere and mods I did before selling it

Thanks for the kind words, appreciated! Had I kept it, I probably would have had the ECU flashed as well at some point to unlock it's full potential and smooth out the sport mode throttle response :) The MIVV is just a slipon but they claim it adds 1.1HP (nobody will ever be able to feel a 1%...

Why I had to sell the Super Tenere and mods I did before selling it

Thanks appreciated! I had been considering leaving my job for probably 2 years...so this was actually a blessing in disguise, as the severance package was more than I would have ever had, had I left on my own terms. Sometimes life has a way of telling you it's time to move on! :) The DR650 is...

You can view the install of these pegs and how I made them fit at 3:04 in the video:

Lower or adjustable rider foot pegs for my '17 Super Tenere?

Yes I think the knight pegs are more like 1" drop than 1 1/4" based on the top you choose, but overall, it was still the best upgrade I did to the bike. I did a 1300km day on the bike and I don't think I could have done that on any other bike.

My Re-Spring of the S10 ES Shock

I don't know what spring weight they used (and any suspension shop should be able to determine the right spring for you, by measuring your sag), and I'm still in the process of having the bike put back to what it was stock (I'll just keep the stiffer spring on it, as the sag was way off stock)...

My Re-Spring of the S10 ES Shock

Its undersprung if you're above 170lbs, but aside from that, its a pretty good setup indeed out of the box.

My Re-Spring of the S10 ES Shock

So at 190lbs, I had the rear spring replaced for a stiffer one, fork springs were fine for my weight. Front and back were revalved. In hindsight, I would have just put a stiffer spring on the rear for a fraction of the cost and hassle. My most comfortable setting when riding solo and no luggage...

Lower or adjustable rider foot pegs for my '17 Super Tenere?

Here's a clearer picture of the kickstand. As you'll notice, I think they got a bad batch of rubber or something (they already started cracking), so they'll be sending me the metal peg tops to replace these. Overall, still extremely happy with this upgrade. Haven't scraped them once (190lbs and...

    Windscreen for tall person

I'm 6'1" and the 2 biggest improvements I did was: - The flat seat mod (plenty youtube videos on that) - A 35$ ebay air cushion - Lowered pegs (the legroom difference is amazing). - Givi Airflow windscreen on Madstad bracket...

Lower or adjustable rider foot pegs for my '17 Super Tenere?

Ended up cutting the kickstand winglet. Problem solved, well worth it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v46cz8rgnk3oamh/IMG_9928.MOV?dl=0

Lower or adjustable rider foot pegs for my '17 Super Tenere?

I can report back on these, they make a world of difference. At 6'1" I can ride 500km a day easy with these pegs. Currently the kickstand clears the footpegs, but when the pegs fold up, they don,t clear the kickstand (once kickstand is up). So as long as I don't drop the bike on the left side I...

    Windscreen for tall person

Just keep in mind I installed the Givi Airflow on a Madstad bracket (which also allows you to change the angle). I think most windscreens will do better on the Madstad...Same on my Africa Twin what made the biggest difference was a Batzen bracket allowing more adjustment of the stock windscreen.

    Windscreen for tall person

Yeah it was a bit rough, mostly the top portion of the Airflow, but for 70$ I thought it was pretty cheap to give it a try :)

    Windscreen for tall person

6'1" here, I tried the Puig deflector on stock windscreen and it was a clear improvement. But yesterday I found a deal on a used Givi Airflow with Madstad bracket (70$ for both), and I must say this is probably the best windscreen I have ever experienced on any bike (including K1600GTL...). I...
