    Full Bore M40

Ordered through eBay, but I believe it was from Chapparal Motorsports.

    Full Bore M40

They do look like the Shinko 705, but the gap spacing is wider. http://www.fullboretires.com/adventuretouring.html

    Full Bore M40

I put 7,700 miles on the rear. Paid $90 for a new one. Just picked it up from mounting and it took 1/2 ounce to balance.

    Chicago Riders

I'm in Minooka with a 2012. Just rolled 30,000 miles, and getting ready to ride up to the CADVR rally later this week.

    Full Bore M40

Just a point of reference for others as well as some historical documentation for myself. I put on a pair of Full Bore M40 (radial) tires at 22,300 miles. I'm getting ready to head out on a trip, so I've replaced the rear tire as it was nearing the end. I probably could have commuted on it...

    Oil Leak

Thanks for the heads up. I've been running the bike 50 miles round trip to work for several days now. No drips on the pavement, so I'm crossing my fingers that it was just the wonky filter.

    Oil Leak

Thanks for the suggestions and input. I replaced it this past weekend with a Mobil 1 M1-108 filter. I verified it was the concave style of filter before purchasing. No more leaks, and I was able to just top it off. Again, prior to the big leak I noticed, I had the bike sitting on the side...

    Oil Leak

Second guessed myself so I had to go check. Turns out I used the Purolator PL14612 this time around. Seems weird that it made it this long without leaking, but I bet that's the problem.

    Oil Leak

I used a Wix filter this time, but I've had it on there for better than 1,000 miles.

    Oil Leak

Maybe I can get this lucky. I've been using my original crush washers since the beginning. I know, I'm a cheapskate...

    Oil Leak

It definitely wasn't there and it was definitely oil, not gas. I've done the overfilled, puking gas tank game before. I was actually at ~1/4 tank when this occurred. The skid plate does tilt slightly forward when on the center stand, so I figure that whatever was leaking had pooled at the...

    Oil Leak

This idea slightly crossed my mind, but I didn't fully look at that yet. Another option to check on though. Thank you.

    Oil Leak

It's been off road, but not for a couple of years, and even then it was with the bash plate on. That plate isn't letting anything past it either. Bombproof!!!

    Oil Leak

OK, so I'll wholly admit to not keeping up on all the "regular" issues on the S10. I have really just ridden it and enjoyed it. This past weekend I was preparing for a bike trip with my wife. I replaced my rear brake pads as they were getting down there. I took the bike for a couple mile...

    Bog at WOT

Thanks. Got it figured out. The fuel line looked good, but kinked when fully down. Rerouted and back to good. Thanks again!

    Bog at WOT

I just changed out my air filter for a K&N. Now I'm experiencing a bog if I go WOT and RPM stays at 5,000. If I let up of of the throttle, the bike will continue to accelerate. Any ideas? I'm heading back out to give it another look.

    New formula Kenda Big Block

Keep us posted on the long term wear. I'm curious to see how other's look after the first 3,000 miles or so. I wish the front would wear like the rear did.

    New formula Kenda Big Block

Could be that you had the old formula. My rear had way more tread left than the one in your pic. Probably good enough for another 2000 miles, but the front was so badly copied I didn't trust it any longer. I've heard good things about the Mitas as well.

    New formula Kenda Big Block

A final tally of 4,800 miles, and the Big Bores are off of the bike. They always felt good in basically any conditions. Having knobs in some of the rougher terrain was nice, but just not worth the longevity to me. I'm trying a set of Full Bore M40's this time around. Hope it's the right...

    New formula Kenda Big Block

Re: Tire Advice Please Well, I'm at 4,400 miles now, and the front is severely cupping. The rear is in good shape, but the front is starting to make me nervous. It seems like the blocky tires tend to cup heavily on big bikes. Another trip coming up, so I'm pulling these off and giving the...
