Getting sucked in by the 'ADV tractor beam'..

Welcome and greetings from SoCal. For what it's worth I was in the same boat. I was riding a 2010 Yamaha Stratoliner Dlx 1900, big HEAVY hot rod of a cruiser with a tiny gas tank. I lurked here on the forum for a couple years "doing research" and even managed to take a couple of test rides on...

    Greetings from sunny Southern California

My sincere apologies to the forum members. I thought I had already done the new member intro here, so here goes. I purchased my new-to-me 2017 XT1200Z in December 2020. I got quite a screaming deal on a barely used bike. Apparently someone bought the bike in West Virginia and rode it out to...

    2017 (DP071) improvements vs 2014 (DP041/DP046) model

This might be off topic, but I'm trying to find adjustable footpegs for my USA 2017 non-es model and this is the only thread I have found that even mentions DP-07. SW-Motech keeps showing parts only for ES model or a DP-07 model. Wouldn't they be the same as far as footpegs go? Am I missing...

Poll: Do you own a Super Tenere? Post a picture.

Exactly. I do a thorough inspection and cleaning after every trip. That's how I discovered my missing spoke after Death Valley. Clean does NOT mean not ridden. Sent from my SM-P610 using Tapatalk

That's too cool. I got my 2017 non-ES last December with only 2700 miles ... yes, like new indeed. I'm up to 7700 mi. so far. Just got back from Death Valley. This photo is on the Wildrose Cyn. loop ride. Awesome! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk

ACD skid and Motortek Outback bars

How is the ACD bash plate for oil changes. Surely it has to be removed every time you need to change the oil filter? Much of a job? Sent from my SM-P610 using Tapatalk

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Exactly! My next long weekend trip will be up to Death Valley. Can't wait. Sent from my SM-P610 using Tapatalk

Black, Blue, Silver, White, Grey, Red, or Sand?

I bought my super low mile 2017 2 months ago. When you live in the desert shouldn't your bike match the environment? Sent from my SM-P610 using Tapatalk

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

If anyone lives anywhere near the Coachella Valley, CA you must ride around the Salton Sea. So much to see. This time I didn't stop at the Salton Sea State Park, but it is a worthwhile stop, especially if you want to feel like you're camping at the beach. The artist colony of Bombay Beach is...

What's up with my fuel gauge?

I know this is an old topic, but please indulge us new Tenere owners. I've had my new-to-me 2017 for only 7 weeks now and put over 2000 mi. on her. I'm still getting used to the fuel gauge. And I've only owned Yamahas so I'm well aware of their quirks, but this is a whole new level of...

    Speed Bleeders and the S10

I just bought a 2017 ST with only 2700 miles on it. Even though that's very few miles I'm expecting 4 yr old brake fluid to be at the end of it's life. I was all set to order the Motion Pro Mini Bleeder when I went out to the bike to verify bleeder nut sizes only to discover they're different...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

You have to love winter in Palm Springs, CA. Had fun wearing off some chicken strips this afternoon. CA SR74 south out of Palm Desert (otherwise known as Palms to Pines Hwy.) is literally in my back yard. I am loving my new to me 2017 T-12. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk

Outback motortek protection combo instal and thoughts

I've been curious about this setup. I just bought a 2017 that came with the OEM skid plate which I know is mostly just a gravel guard. How does the Outback plate look as far as removing for oil changes? Sent from my SM-P610 using Tapatalk

Costco rolling out self fill air stations

I've used the Costco "air" station several times now, it's very close to where I live. I can confirm it is available even when the store is closed. Very convenient to do a pre-ride top off on fuel and air. Also noteworthy, you may NOT completely deflate your tires thinking you will get a full...
