    Tire issues

It seems like all the slightly tougher tires are bias ply. The Tourance on the rear has about 75% of it's life left and I don't want to mix bias and radial. I'll take a look at the TKC 70. Seems like a nice compromise between a TKC 80 and a street tire.

    Tire issues

Any recommendations for a 90/10 or 80/20 tire that can take a little more punishment? I found this blister on my front: Friends have told me that I never miss a rock. I've taken my Tenere down some pretty tough trails. I usually run the front about 25 lbs which may not be enough. I've also...

    Tools "Sticky"

I finally received the wrench and adapter for my axles. They will replace the two sockets which I can't use on the road anyway without a 1/2" breaker. Much smaller and I think it will all fit in the stock tool bag. The wrench might be too long in which case it will be rubber banded to the...

    Tools "Sticky"

Timely topic. I've just been looking at my stock tool kit deciding what to keep and what to drop and what to add. Here it is: When near home I like the stock kit except for the pliers. I'm going to replace the pliers with mini vise grips. It also needs a couple more allen wrenches...

    Spooning New Tires

You zip tie the beads together and the tire comes off or goes on without tools. That is once you break the bead. Easier to see on YouTube than it is to describe. The rim paint is very easy to scratch. Sent from my KFTHWI using Tapatalk

    Spooning New Tires

I used the "zip tie" method to put a rear tourance on last week. Piece of cake. Sent from my KFTHWI using Tapatalk

18,000 miles, questions about fork maintenance?

Here's my concern. I'm pretty heavy (265) so if I go to proper springs up front, what's going to happen to the back? Can I get away with a spring replacement on the rear shock?

18,000 miles, questions about fork maintenance?

I'd like to get the forks resprung and revalved. But I don't have the money to do the rear also. Would I be better off waiting until I can get both ends done?

18,000 miles, questions about fork maintenance?

So, my 2012 has a little over 18k miles on it now. Right fork is leaking pretty heavily. I'm going to try a seal wiper but I've been advised its probably a good idea at this mileage to replace the seals, change the oil etc. So here come the questions: 1. Should I stick with oem parts or...

    Ride Reno 200 - Sept 13-15 2013

Had a great time, I hope all the other Tenere owners that showed up did too. There was one from Fresno - Steve. I rode with him a bit. One from South Dakota but I didn't catch his name. There were a couple others I saw. Mostly the crowd is orange with a little blue, yellow and red mixed...

    Protaper raptor bars

I'm in the process of putting Raptors on my bike right now. I'd say they are about 1" taller than stock, but with a lot less sweep. The cables seem to fit just fine. No binding. I destroyed one of my Symtec grip heaters removing it from the old bar. I'm waiting for the replacement before I...

    Ride Reno 200 - Sept 13-15 2013

It's a mix of asphalt and forest roads. The dirt roads are no problem with 90/10 tires (I have Tourances). Some embedded rocks, ruts, tree roots but nothing technical. Some gravel. The asphalt ranges from excellent with some good twisties to poor with potholes to dodge.

    Ride Reno 200 - Sept 13-15 2013

Who's in? http://dustdevilsmc.com/Participant/ParticipantFlyer.aspx The Dust Devils have added an adventure loop this year. I went on a ride yesterday to verify the roll charts. Pretty cool route. Great way to see new riding areas. Made the mistake of wearing my new helmet which is now...

Is anyone regularly hitting or breaking 200 miles or more per tank?

On the open highway I usually can get just past 200 miles before the gauge starts flashing. Takes a bout 4.5 gallons to fill it back up. I usually try to stay within 10 of the speed limit.
