Flew from MN to Alabama. Bought my new to me bike. Drove it 1000 miles back to MN just in time to say good luck to my son heading to a golf tourney. Jumped in the truck and took my wife and two daughter 3 hrs to a gymnastics meet. Crazy 3 days. Never done anything like it before. No epic pics, just butt in the seat time. Along with some wind, rain, sun and cold.

Plan was to do the 191 loop through the White Mountains in eastern AZ. Just about to our lunch stop at Hannigan Meadow when a deer tried to take out Randy. Big hit but he stayed up. Made it on to Hannigan Meadow, ordered lunch and called the wives to bring a trailer. I thought the radiator was damaged because of liquid leaking. Apparently it was liquid from the deer. No leaks once stopped. We removed the remains of the fender, strapped up the loose light, and straightened up the steering. Called the wives back and said we would ride to meet them. All was still good in Alpine so we called them again and told them we would ride on home.

Most of the ride was actually excellent.

AZ season coming to an end. One last ride out the Apache Trail. Bought my son a couple T-shirts at Tortilla Flat and on up to the road closure. Crowds and traffic are thinning out. It looks like they are starting to work on the closure. Hopefully by next winter the whole trail will be open.

Finally! Now I can say that spring has also arrived here in the north. The snow and ice are gone and the sun is shining from the full sky. I have been waiting for this day for a long time and now it's true, the 2024 season has started! :)

A short test ride today on the winding roads of the nearby area (~150 km), and everything works great. I'm so excited after all that dark and cold season...

Last ride of my Arizona Winter. Went up the Control Road at Mount Lemmon, down the pavement, and back out via Reddington Rd. Best way to ride Mt Lemmon without all the Tuscon traffic. Met a nice group of dirt bikers taking a different loop. One of them (fellow S10 rider) used to live about 2 miles from me in Illinois. Lunch at the Sawmill Run in Summerhaven.

Shrinkflation is real. :/

Still a mean burger tho. Then a rip up through Old Town Snobbsdale after to see if there was any cute chicks out. Just the normal spoiled brat frat boys. Great weather tho. Minimal people trying to kill me.
