Does anyone know where the plug is that the PC-8 plugs into for switching? Everything I read says it's by the battery, but I can't find it anywhere. 2023 Super Tenere

You do not want the PC-8 plugged into factory 'switched power' unless you have it on a big relay.... The little factory wires will not hold that current....... most of the time this is wired directly to the battery and is 'constant' power.... but you can have it 'switched' with a relay.....

If it's the same as on a 2014, there's a modular connector in the same space under the right hand fairing where the OEM tool bag is strapped. That's the connector you use for the trigger wire for the relay that goes with the PC-8.

Here's a thread that shows what it looks like: https://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?threads/eastern-beaver-pc-8.34824/#post-525723

That post is for a 2015, but I doubt that they moved the location of that modular connector for later models.

If I remember right, there are two black rubber boots in the area just to the right of the top side of the battery and just to the left of the space for the tool bag. In one of these boots there should be 2 connectors (a 3 pin and a 4 pin connector). The PC-8 uses the 3 pin connector.

This is from 2013 but I believe these connectors have not changed.

Be sure to remove the blank on the 3 pin connector so you can plug in your PC-8 connector for the relay trigger.

  • The first video shows what happens if you don't know that you need to remove the blank connector.
  • The second video shows how to remove it.

Used a piece of roof flashing to make my mount. The aux light plug is plug and play. 30 min job. Been working since 2015. 9 years without a hitch. :). Eastern beaver maybe old school, but it works and it was easy.IMG_0027.pngIMG_0028.pngIMG_0029.png
