The new Mitas E07 Adventure tire (tyre)

It's true...here's a recent email I got from Mitas about their E07 (original). ---------------------------------- As Gustavo mentioned, Mitas listened to customers all over the USA & Canada who demanded we bring back the E-07. The response since making the announcement has been overwhelmingly...

Can I handle a Yamaha Super Tenere? Or should I get a Honda NC 700x non-abs?

With your size/weight, go with the Tenere. I started with a sv650 (similar engine to vstrom) and was wishing for more bike/engine soon and I'm not a young punk. Loaded down with kit or with a passenger, the 650 will feel very weak and will get worse gas mileage than the 1200. Premium fuel adds...

ACD Skid Plate | Group Buy | 20% to 35% discount

Yep, I've had an ACD plate for years. Front Studs, centre stand bolts and off it comes. Just did an oil change and I think I had the plate off, oil changed, and back on within about 40 minutes and talking my time.

new digital screen for the 3rd ST generation ??

I must be old school....I like my analog. If digital, at least let me customize what it looks like and what it displays. That's one of my favourite things about Gen 1 is the dash....simple to look at, just the info needed, not too busy.

    I need convincing!!

I also have the Altrider bars...they've worked great the few times I've used them. I have them paired with an ACD skid plate that's been very good as well. The plate is probably a little overkill for what I need as I only do forest roads at worst, but I found a great deal on it and went with...

New guy from CT. looking to buy s10 . need advice ..

+1...Love my 2013 as well...It's setup for me, runs awesome, rock solid and no plans to upgrade for a few years yet. When I do, guess what it'll be? Another Tenere for sure.

"Waterproof" rain cover, full or half size..

I use a full cover for storage, and a lightweight 1/2 cover for travel. The travel one packs small enough to fit in the gap below the Altrider rear rack.

    Pannier pics and stats

I don't have a pic that I can easily post up, but I went with wolfman expedition soft bags on the side with a pelican top case. I think it looks awesome, not heavy, not going to break my leg, waterproof, big enough and makes me not bring along a bunch of crap I don't need. I mostly ride solo...

How do you carry your tent poles?

Wrapped up with the tent and strapped across the back seat...makes for a nice back rest. Sleeping bag in the wolfman expedition paniers, sleeping pad in it's own bag between the tent and the top box.

    Centering handlebars during riser install

Yep, mark position before removing...problem solved. This is assuming, of course, that the bars are centered as they currently sit. Other way is to just find center of the whole bar and then use that mark to measure out to each riser.

Feedback on a 2013 Super Tenere

I;ve been running my 2013 for almost 3 years now. It's been rock solid/bullet proof reliable. I like the ergos, the build quality, the engine, and general layout/size. I think I am closing in on 30,000 kms on the bike and I have no plans to sell it. I have done a few things to it to make it...

    recommendations for skid plate

Love my ACD plate. Went to the front stud setup and that makes things nicer for sure. It can be a little fiddly the first couple times getting it off and on, but after you get a sequence, it is pretty quick. For me, I have it off the bike in about 5 minutes for an oil change and then probably...

Do you carry extra gas ?

I carried a small red (5 Litre) jerrycan of gas for my yukon trip. I used it twice, just for peace-of-mind. It would give me ~100 km extra range, so I would stop for a break after a fill-up and empty the gas can into the tank to reduce the weight up top and then continue on. If I knew I was...
